Objectives of ICT Education

• To improve 21st Century Critical Learning and Innovation Skills of students.

• To improve 21st Century Information, Media, and Technology Skills of students.



Introduction When the first computers made their entry into schools in the late 1970s, we used to speak about computers in education. With computers came printers, floppy disk drives, scanners and the first digital cameras. We began to use the term IT or Information Technology, to describe computers and these various peripheral devices. Then the internet arrived together with computer networks, the World Wide Web, email and search engines. A new term entered the language – ICT. The term ICT is short-form for Information and Communication Technologies, embraces/ holds the many technologies that enable us to receive information and communicate or exchange information with others.



• The definition of ICT itself is the set of activities that facilitate by electronic means the processing, transmission and display of information.

• With ICT, the company can make the business easier to happen with the client, supplier and the distributor.

• ICT provide right and updated information for taking right decisions.

• ICT bring digital economy or economy network. It is one of the economic development pillars to gain national competitive advantage.

• The ICT has opened the door to access information worldwide for the teachers and students.



• The importance of ICT and information literacy is a vital/very important components in the development of life skills, workplace skills and citizenship.

Developing Learning Skills

That means, traditional education models have frequently focused on learning identified content for subject areas like math, science, language arts, and social studies and then evaluating this content knowledge through quizzes and tests at the end of a chapter. The core subjects and themes that frame 21st century learning include traditional core subjects while highlighting civic literacy, global awareness, financial literacy, health literacy, and environmental literacy.

USE OF ICT IN DEVELOPING INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIAL At present there is a shortage of qualified and competent teachers in all most all subjects at all levels. The book reading is not very enjoyable and does not help students in understanding the concepts and retaining the information. There are many teachers who are well known for the specific subject. Their lectures should be digitalized and made available to all the users. It will enhance the quality of instruction in the classrooms. It will make the teaching effective, participatory and enjoyable.



USE OF ICT IN REMEDIAL TEACHING

The Remedial /counteractive teaching can be done by the eminent/ well-known faculties by arranging seminars, workshops or special training programs for weak students.

It functions to control the entire banking system that also includes `Electronic banking Services'(e-banking).In banking:1) Customers can carry out online transactions (24 Hrs X 7 days).2) Businessmen can save their time, access company accounts for loan applications, business transactions and update on their cash flow at any time.3) Bank administrators can monitor entire banking activities.
