Medical Coding prepares individuals to perform specialized data entry, classification, and record keeping procedures related to medical diagnostic, treatment, billing, and insurance documentation. Because this program is online, it gives the student the ability to learn and work from home. Each of these online courses has a one Saturday “boot camp” that is highly recommended. Practical NursingThe certificate program is offered at the Colby, Norton, and WaKeeney campuses.

The graduate is eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination for

Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN). The 4 prerequisite courses must be completed before the start of the Level 1 nursing courses and must be taken no more than ten years prior to beginning the first year of practical nursing courses.

Prerequisite courses are offered during the first summer session.
