CENTRAL PIEDMONT COMMUNITY COLLEGE interior design Interior Design at CPCC The Interior Design programs at Central Piedmont Community College are de- signed to prepare students for a variety of job opportunies in the fields of both residenal and Commercial interior design. The focus of learning is threefold: Technical knowledge; professional pracces; and aesthec principles. Coursework includes residenal and com- mercial interior design, computer aided dra%ing/design (CAD), and advanced 3D computer modeling. Also included are basic design principles, history of interiors and furnishings, color theory, products, business pracces, and graphic presenta- ons. Studies in general educaon, designed to foster professional success, rounds out the program. Graduates should qualify for a variety of jobs within all businesses dealing with and relang to the interior environment including residenal and commercial interior design, facility management, showroom design, and sales posions for furniture, texles and accessories. Learning Opportunies The interior Design department offers students the opon of compleng one or more programs of study based on their areas of interest: • Associate in Applied Science Degree in Interior Design • Diploma in Residenal Decorang and Home Staging • Diploma in Kitchen & Bath Design • Introducon to Interior Design Cerficate (designed for high school students enrolled in College and Career Promise) Note that curricula and the recommended course sequences for the AAS degree and both diploma programs are outlined on the reverse of this sheet. Admission Requirements • A High School Diploma or equivalent is re- quired. CPCC Placement tests in English and Mathemacs may be required . • An orientaon appointment is required fol- lowing compleon of placement tesng. Advancement studies for Math and English courses are available for students to build basic skills and knowledge.
