Goals  of  this  project  •  Install  seismometers  at  6  –  12  sites  in  the  Deep  River  Basin  area,  focusing  on  areas  most  likely  to  be  developed  for  natural  gas

•  ConDnuously  record  ground  moDon  for  at  least  1  full  year

•  Use  these  recordings  to  look  for  any  naturally  occurring  seismicity  in  the  area

•  Develop  a  baseline  profile  of  seismic  acDvity  to  use  for  comparison  in  the  event  of  future  increases  in  seismic  acDvity

•  If  we  find  more  naturally  occurring  seismicity  than  we  expect  (and  we  don’t  expect  much),  evaluate  any  potenDal  for  natural  hazards  from  exisDng  faults
