Be a good neighbor Parking

Save your money and avoid unwanted parking tickets by following the City’s parking ordinances. To get your parking permit or to learn more about City parking, visit the City code enforcement office in City hall at 320 W. Broadway St. or call 989-779-5302.

Planning or hosting a party is a big responsibility. If you decide to host a party in the City of Mt. Pleasant, make sure to avoid a few things such as:

Avoid these common housing violations to increase your safety and reduce the risk of fire:

• loft beds must be installed with 30 inches between the top of the sleeping surface and the ceiling• If you have a loft or bunk bed, a smoke alarm must also be present in the room • Rooms with no second way out, like those in basements, will be discontinued in use in accordance with the housing code• It is not permitted to have combustible material, like trash,

accumulate in or outside of building• Extension cords may not be affixed to structures, extended through walls, ceilings or floors and may not be used as a substitute for permanent wiring

• you will be asked to remove or display properly all improperly installed holiday lights

• avoid use of hasp locks as doors must be readily operable without the need for keys, special knowledge or effort with the exception of those permitted by the International Building Code

• The interior must be kept in a sanitary and structurally sound condition
