Discipleship in itself is not the goal—our aim is not to just be better people

 Goal of discipleship is fellowship with

the father and people

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.

Acts 2: 42-4742 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved .

and praise.

They had a commitment to one another expressed in caring fellowship.

They had a desire to grow expressed in Biblical teaching.

They had a heart for the lost expressed in leading others to Christ.

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. (Hebrews 10:24)

4) Cell helps me to grow in godly love towards each other

… that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith. Romans 1:12
