2 Installation

2.1 System Requirements• Windows 10 64-Bit• Screen resolution of 1280 x 800 or higher recommended

2.2 Installing the softwareThe software is delivered in the form of an executable installation package.

1. Download the software package CellClutch from the website: https://software.apextoolgroup.com/current-software-packages/cellclutch/

2. Start the installation file CellClutch-X.Y.Z.exe.

3. Select a language and press <OK>.

4. Select the installation folder and press <Next>.

5. Select components to be installed and press <Next>.

6. Press <Next>.

7. Confirm the installation with <Install> before it starts.

3 Operation

The user interface is divided into three parts. On the left are global settings and actions, in the middle are forward application settings, and on the right are reverse application settings:

The individual panes of the user interface are described below.

3.1 Product InformationIn this pane information about the tool is displayed.

The current software is a beta version. Functions can still change until the final release.

Parameter DescriptionSerial Number This read-only field shows the serial number of the tool. If no tool is con-

nected, Not Connected is displayed. If no serial number is stored in the con-nected tool, Not available is displayed.

ID This read-only field shows the ID of the tool. If no tool is connected, Not Connected is displayed. If no ID is stored in the connected tool, Not avail-able is displayed.

3.2 General SettingsGeneral settings can be made in this pane.

Status displayThe color of the LEDs indicates the status of the rundown and tool.

Revision This field shows the software version of the tool.Note This field allows to store a remark in the tool.

Parameter Description

Parameter DescriptionEnable Rotation It is possible to set which direction of rotation should be active: Only for-

ward, only reverse or both. If forward is selected, the reverse program can-not be used, and vice versa.

Work Light The brightness of the work light can be configured.Status Light The status light can be turned on or off.Buzzer The buzzer can be turned on or off.Brake If the brake is active, the motor brakes as soon as the trigger is released,

otherwise the motor coasts.

The dark gray buttons indicate the selected option, while the light gray ones show the unselected ones.

Parameter DescriptionRestart Delay The restart delay can be configured here. This means the minimum time

between a clutch event and the start of the next run.Double Hit Double hit protection can be activated and configured here.

A second clutch event within the double hit time automatically leads to a NOK indication. This is to detect a tightening that has already been tight-ened by the previous run.

Gear Translation The gear translation ratio configured in the tool is displayed here. Please note that the value can currently only be read at this point.

Parameter DescriptionConnect (Serial Port) Connect to a tool via a virtual serial port (USB). The following dialog

appears:

Select the COM port to which the tool is connected and click OK. If Read Settings is selected, the settings (global and application settings) are read automatically after the connection is established.

Reconnect Reestablish the connection. If there is no connection at the moment, the last existing connection will be re-established.

3.5 Application SettingsIt is possible to set separate tightening programs for forward and reverse operation.

The pre-tightening stages 1-5 and the After Clutch Stage can be configured this way:

The Tightening Stage can be configured this way:

Disconnect Disconnect current connection.Read Settings Read settings (global and application settings) from the currently connected

tool. Write Settings Write settings (global and application settings) to the currently connected

tool.Download results Download tightening results from the currently connected tool. The following

dialog appears:

Select the file format and click OK. After that another dialog appears to select the target file.

Parameter DescriptionStage X With the checkbox in the pane title it is possible to disable the stage com-

pletely. In this case the pane will be collapsed.Rotation The direction of rotation can be set to either forward or reverse.Speed The rotation speed can be set here.Condition The condition when the stage is completed can be selected. Either the

angle of rotation or the duration is monitored.Angle/Duration Depending on which condition is selected, the angle or the time can be set

here.

Parameter DescriptionTightening Stage This stage cannot be disabled because it is mandatory.Rotation The direction of rotation is always forward in this stage. It cannot be

changed.Speed The rotation speed can be set here.Limit Type Here you can set whether the angle or the duration is limited during tighten-

ing.Angle/Duration Limit Depending on which limit type is selected, the angle or the time can be set

here.

In the reverse operation mode no Tightening Stage and no After Clutch Stage is available. However, at least one stage must be active in reverse operation mode.

3.6 Menu Bar

The menu bar offers several useful menus:

Menu FunctionFile • Open: Load the settings from a file.

• Save as: Save the settings to a file.• Preferences: Provides options to configure the App:

- Automatically connect on startup: If this option is selected, a connection to the last connected tool is established at startup.

- Read settings after automatic connect: If this option is selected, after the auto-matic connection establishment the settings are read from the tool.

• Exit: Close the App.Edit • Undo: Undo the last change to the settings.

• Redo: Restore the next change to the settings (Undo the last undo).Tool The tool menu offers the same functions as the tool actions pane described above.Language Change the user interface language.Help • Open Log Directory: Open the directory where log files are stored.

• Open Latest Log File: Open the latest log file with the system's default text editor.
