CellarguardPlus’ antimicrobial coating bonds to surfaces providing effective and long-lasting antimicrobial action.

CellarguardPlus, when applied properly, becomes bonded to surfaces and forms a coating which is highly resistant to microbial attack.

CellarguardPlus, once dried, does not emit gas, leach, diffuse, migrate or otherwise leave the surface to which it has been applied. The result is a surface with long-lasting protection against fungi, bacteria, moulds, yeasts and viruses.

CellarguardPlus is a surface bound antimicrobial agent which remains attached to the surface to which it is applied and functions by lysing (rupturing) microbial cells, destroying bacteria, yeast

and inactivating viruses.

While other antimicrobials rely on poisons, toxic chemicals or heavy metal ions, CellarguardPlus utilises a patented molecular technology that destroys microbes mechanically.

CellarguardPlus offers a totally new concept in sanitising, disinfecting and protecting wineries.

Wineries are constantly under attack by a microscopic army of microbes which arrive in the form of bacteria, viruses, algae, mildew, mould, yeast and other fungi.

Once established, these harmful microbes can cause product and property damage.

Many of these microbes have mutated or adapted to chemicals being used to control them, therefore chemicals must become more toxic to be effective.

CellarguardPlus’ winery sanitisation programme will safely and effectively reduce mould, disease and odour-causing microbes by up to 99.99% and inhibit their return.

The CellarguardPlus sanitisation and protection programme inactivates and kills pathogens using a mechanical rather than chemical killing process. No transfer of chemical or chemical residues occurs during this process. No harmful pollutants enter the trade waste system.

CellarguardPlus has approval from the New Zealand Food Safety Authority (NZFSA) and can be used safely around food. Because of its nontoxic nature it is the ideal solution to use in food manufacturing facilities to manage hygiene.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONSWhat is CellarguardPlus?A nontoxic, food grade, antimicrobial industrial sanitizer and surface coating product.

What does it do?It provides lasting surface protection against many types of microbes. This has not been seen before with conventional chemical-based disinfectants.

Is it safe to use?Yes it is. It is nontoxic and contains no harmful chemicals. The application process can occur while people are in the area being treated.

Does the product have the appropriate approvals?CellarguardPlus is AsureQuality approved which permits the product to be used in the most demanding food production areas including the dairy industry.

What is in it?It is 99% pure water and has a 1% organosilane active.

How does it work?When applied to a surface and dried, CellarguardPlus forms a coating of microscopic spikes that rupture microbes’ cells as they come into contact with the surface.

How is it applied? CellarguardPlus is applied through fine particle spray devices at 20 microns to ensure effective coverage.

What does it break down to? CellarguardPlus will break down to harmless organic materials.

Will CellarguardPlus transfer? CellarguardPlus is a durable non-leaching, bonded, antimicrobial surface coating which cannot be washed off and is not affected by normal cleaning protocols.

How long will it last on a surface? The effective action of CellarguardPlus is only diminished by abrasion. If the treated area is not subjected to abrasive action, the durability of CellarguardPlus will continue for an extended time.

Will our regular cleaning processes affect the surface coating?Normal cleaning processes using detergents and surfactants will only enhance the effective action of CellarguardPlus.

Can it be applied to any surface?CellarguardPlus is safe to use on any surface type including stainless steel, wood and plastics.

Will CellarguardPlus deal with Brettanomyces and other wine spoilage organisms?Absolutely, not only Brettanomyces but also Acetobacter, Lactobacillus and Zygosaccharramyces.

Inspect winery and surroundings and prepare a

CellarguardPlus sanitisation and protection plan.

Prepare a cost quotation based on a square metre

and/or hourly charge rate to clean winery and apply

CellarguardPlus protection.

CellarguardPlus technicians clean winery and surrounds

to remove all visible and obvious dirt, mould, mildew

and other contamination. Preapplication preparation

is an essential step in the process. All surfaces must

be thoroughly cleaned and then dried to allow

CellarguardPlus to bond to treated surfaces.

Apply CellarguardPlus to all areas using spray

applications and/or fogging techniques. No washing down

is required after application. Dries in under 30 minutes.

Technicians return to inspect winery to test for

effectiveness and to decide on frequency of reapplication.

researchers at Dow Corning Corporation for the US Navy. Using

new technology, scientists discovered the ability to control the

growth and development of microorganisms on any treated
