Each booking will ensure exclusive venue access; early set-up and late pick-down times; and access to the indoor cocktail lounge, deck, lower and upper lawns!

7 Reasons to Have your Next Event at Sugarland Gardens

Events at Sugarland Gardens are not a side business, it's our primary business! Here

are seven benefits to you and your very important guests.

1. Large Events on a Budget

Perhaps the biggest cry of major event planners is the lack of venue options beyond a

certain number of guests and at a reasonable rate.

Solution: Come to Sugarland Gardens! We can comfortably host over 1,000 for a

seated dinner event, plus we have parking for more than 100 vehicles, with additional

parking available on the compound across the street. You will have access to the entire

property, including the indoor facilities, which are excellent for serving cocktails to your

guests upon arrival.

Sugarland Gardens is located opposite the Hayman’s Factory, on Farm Road, St. Peter. Travel north from Warrens, St. Michael and drive along Highway 2A. Just after Baker’s Woods you will see our sign (at the second left). Make that left. We are the yellow property on the right.

2. Privacy

We have produced events

at various hotels around the

island, 5-star hotels

included. We're sure you

have seen guests in bikinis

and beach shorts traversing

through the receptions you

have attended. This can

uncomfortable and

dampen the special

nature of event.

3. Noise Management

Nothing is more dis-

heartening to your guests

than a party planner

having to cut the music

just as the party is

getting started to

appease hotel guests or

the uninvited neighbours.

Solution: Our neighbour

is just under 1km away

so there are no noise

restrictions here!

4. Set Up & Pick Down

One of the major headaches for persons booking venues is the narrow window within

which they are expected to set up, host the event and then return the venue to its

original state. Some venues only guarantee access an hour before the start, giving one

little time to install decorations, lighting sound and other features for your event.

Solution: At Sugarland Gardens we offer much more flexibility.

5. Power Supply

It can be a real pain in the pocket to have to rent a generator in order to power your

event because of inadequate electrical supply at the venue. Generators are also rather

noisy and dampen the ambience.

Solution: At Sugarland Gardens we have a 150-amp power supply, which ensures that

95 percent of events would not need a

generator. This is a significant saving

particularly in these difficult times.

6. Bathrooms

We know the challenges of trying to set

a certain standard for your event and

then having to rent toilets. An air

conditioned trailer of washrooms will

cost you up to $5000.00.

Solution: That is money that you would

not have to spend at Sugarland

Gardens. Here we have a spacious,

modern powder room for the ladies and

new gents' washrooms that are always

in close proximity to your event. A total

of six units ensure that queues are kept

to a minimum, if they occur at all.

7. Colour Scheme

Nothing can frustrate an event planner more than trying to match company colours,

event theme or indeed, a bride’s fantasy colour scheme, with the kaleidoscope of

colours found in the carpets, curtains and walls at the host venue.

Last Christmas, for example, we decorated a hotel meeting room for a client. Their

black, white and silver glamour theme worked very well until you stepped back and

took in the red and green Christmas tree, the red blue and green carpet and the teal

and yellow walls. Needless to say the impact was not what we would have wanted.

Solution: Sugarland Gardens has neutral colours throughout the property, giving you a

large degree of flexibility to personalize and decorate our venue. Noted decorators

Preston Bailey and Colin Cowie both rave about the value of a fully dressed tent in all

white as a blank palate to express their creative designs. This is the standard we seek

to set at our new venue.

Party Ideas for the

Holidays!

Food, friends, family and festivities! We have all of the core elements to make

your Christmas event a hit with your guests. For those seeking that “wow

factor”, Pangroove Elegant Events’ list of red carpet treatment options can be

combined in many ways to set your event

apart. Here are four great ideas to give your Christmas cocktail party that special

touch your guests will never forget.

2. Island Themes Rather than look north, consider Caribbean

inspirations for your theme. Local flora such as poinsettia; music such as parang; and traditional foods such as ham can bring a touch

of cultural authenticity.

3. Light Up! Transform your event space from ordinary to elegant

with beautiful lighting that blends with your colour scheme. These spaces instantly become beautiful backdrops for your photo-ops.

4. Textures and Tones Be daring and break with tradition by using

one dominant colour such as white or green throughout your event theme from décor to Christmas lights! Alternatively, remember that

colour can be introduce not only in center pieces, but also with the

addition of chair sashes, table overlays or runners, for main and cocktail tables and, of course, event lighting and draping.

1. Your Event Signature Bring a little panache to your event with a signature drink. This adds a

classy touch to your bar while significantly reducing your beverage costs. Here’s a great idea!

Martini

Ingredients:

2 parts vodka

1 part creme de cocoa

1 part peppermint schnapps

a splash of grenadine for color

Directions:

1. Shake all with ice.

2. Serve in a glass with the rim

dipped in water and then

dipped in finely crushed candy

canes.

Celebrating Life’s Milestones One Elegant Event at a Time Pangroove Elegant Events is trusted by dozens of local firms and event planners, who

Barbados’ most noted organizations.

Inter-American Development Bank (IDB)

To commemorate the inauguration of their new offices at Hythe Welches, Maxwell

Christ Church, the IDB turned to Pangroove Elegant Events. This important ceremony

was to be attended by key local dignitaries and members of their top hierarchy who

were going to be on island.

The formal presentation was to be

followed by light hors d'oeuvres. The

challenge was the only available time to

hold the ceremony, due to a tight

itinerary, was midday.

Pangroove Elegant Events recommended

and eventually supplied the following

solutions:

- The head table for the dignitaries

- A stage which elevated the head table

slightly above the audience

- A backdrop that facilitated branding,

while providing an appropriate

background for photography and

videography

- The tent, which was dressed with a

smooth liner to create a corporate and

classy look; tent leggings decorated in

brand colours

- Cocktail tables and a small bar were

installed at the rear of the tent to

facilitate refreshments

- A sound system

- Commercial fans to ensure the comfort

level was maintained

- The installation of signage and décor

"Caribbean Chef of the Year" twice -

Meet our Team

Managing Director David Hutchinson David has over 25 years of experience in the event business, several of those from an entertainment perspective before shifting focus. His vision is to make Pangroove Elegant Events the preferred event planning company in Barbados.

Office Manager Kawania Jones-Majeks Kawania, our office manager, is herself a former client, now oversees the administrative side of the operation in addition to being a wedding planner. Her patient attention to detail and calm persona makes her uniquely suited to her role.

Supervisor Stephen Hutchinson A new addition to the team, Stephen’s role is to ensure the smooth and effective delivery of service at your event. He is the one who leads our planning units in executing your event design theme to perfection.

We know the DNA of events and offer each client tailored advice to assist them in

celebrating life’s milestones. Together with a staff of 15 professionals we have been

able to develop a unique & comprehensive one stop shop. Weddings are our

specialty but we do plan a wide range of events. Here are three of our core team
