The original restaurant Pete and Maria operated included true “drive-in” service and “carhops”. P eter and Maria Christopoulos immigrated to the United States in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s, respectively, with very little. Working hard to save, they bought their first restaurant in 1967, the old Dog ‘n Suds Drive-In on Lake Michigan Drive. Three years later they converted the restaurant to Mr. Burger. In 1987 they built a new restaurant at the Lake Michigan Drive location. They now serve their customers from six Grand Rapids area locations with the opening of their Hudsonville restaurant a few months ago. They try to visit each business daily and they employ over 200 people, some who have been with them from the very early years. Working hard during the past 40 years, they have built a Grand Rapids area business into a recognized icon with a solid reputation for quality food and service. They are eager and ready to serve you today. CUSTOMER APPRECIATION SPECIALS! “You succeed through hard work and dedication and by taking care of your customers. With all of the competition in our market, good is not good enough.” – Peter and Maria Christopoulos
