Ministry Opportunities Since arriving I have been able to minister to many. In the hospital I shared and prayed with a cancer patient, shared with a man on suicide watch, and othe people as the Lord brought us together. Cebu 2 You March 2011 Greetings from Cebu via Sunny (brrrrrr) Southern California. We had snow in parts of LA yesterday. We pray this newsletter finds you all doing well. SHCC is doing great thanks in part to your prayers and support. Furlough As you know, I am on furlough in the states. I have been overwhelmed by the warmth and love that has been shown me since I arrived. I was greeted at the airport by a group of friends with signs and loud voices. I have had a chance to teach the CC Downey Singles Ministry twice. I have also been able to address the teachers and staff at Pioneers Club (Sunday Night Children’s Ministry), and am scheduled to speak many more times. Medical Update Since arriving I was advised by my doctor to check into UCLA Medical Center for tests and evaluations on my left leg. I spent 6 days in the hospital undergoing tests and am now undergoing 6 weeks of antibiotics at home. After the antibiotics heal my diabetic ulcers I will undergo surgery to remove at least one infected toe. Pray for the right doctors and for God’s perfect plan in this. Ministry in Cebu The ministries in Cebu continue to grow and function as if I were there. Pastor Gerry, Sheilani, Joy, Christymae and many others are doing a great job. Thanks to them and pray for the Lord to continue to strengthen them and guide them. Easter Sonrise Service As my stay in the states has to be extended, Pastor Gerry and the crew will organize and do the Sonrise service at the beach at 4:30am. We will baptize at least 5 people this year. Night of Worship For this month’s Night of Worship we put a large banner in front of the church for one- week inviting people to join us. We had 2 new ladies attend because of the banner and they came back for Sunday service. Praise the Lord for the idea of the banner.

New Intern

In April we will welcome a new intern from Calvary Chapel Bible College‐Philippines.  Her name is Irish and we look forward to receiving her and working with her during her internship.  Welcome Irish!

Valentine’s Celebration On Sunday February 13th we celebrated Valentines day with a special dinner. All church members were invited. About 40-50 attended for an evening that offered a special menu, games, prizes and pictures were taken and printed immediately so everyone had a memory to take home with them. We do this every year and one member who has attended many said “this was the best Valentines event ever”. Of course there was praise music and a message was shared by Kuya Erwin about the “Love of Christ. Our theme was “Perfect Love”.
