CD Capacity

CD-R disks typically hold 700MB of Data and range in write speeds from 4X to 52X

CD-RW disks typically hold 650MB of Data and range in write speeds of 4X to 24X

What those numbers mean?

● There are 3 sets of numbers labeled on CD-RW drives.

● 12X 4X 32X● 1st number 12X stands for Write Speed● 2nd number 4X stands for Re-Write speed (for

CD-RW disks)● 3rd number 32X stands for read speed (what CD-

ROMS do)

Reasons to burn CD's

● Save work for later use– Usually completed work– CD's not the best for multiple saves

● Backup your computer● Store music● Store pictures

Steps

1. Select the type of project you would like

2. Browse to the files you want to copy

3. Drag them to the bottom screen, or use the “add” button

4. Click on “record”

Caching and Buffer Underruns

Buffer Underruns prevent Data Loss. The computer Buffers the Data to be burned so the CD is created successfully
