TheCrystalCity Sports Pub was founded in 1994 by three MountSt.Mary's

classmates.Majority partner BillBayne wasalready wellestablished in the restaurant

business.Bill approached ArtDoughertyand JimMadden with an idea fora sports

theme oriented localpub with pool tables, well pricedfoodand friendlyservice.Theguyswanted a neighborhoodrestaurantwitha playful ambiance that gave theweekend

athleteaplacetoicetheirkneesandthe9to5adultaplacetogoandrelax.

As luck wouldhaveit,in late 1993 a smallhardware store on23rd Streetwas closing itsdoors andhad an insidetrackon obtaining a lease forthe property.We

 jumped onthat opportunity andopened ourdoors onAugust 2ndthatsameyear.Crystal City houseda vibrant workforce with limited lunch options thus resultingin theSports

Pub'sinstantsuccess.As our relationships with thelocal community andalumni groupsgrewso didour size.In 1996,we integratedthe two story Snuggery located right next door tous

into our restaurant.More TV'sand another barequalingmorefun foreveryone.Upon completion of therenovation in thefallof 1996,the SportsPub was given anadditional

opportunity to grow with thejoiningof thefourth partnerJohnFinlay.John brought a corporate influencefromhis stretch with Marriott& Sudexo Corporations. He also

brought with himan extensive barnetworkof contacts andfund-raising experience.Theannual SportsPub Challengeand Battleof theBridgeGolfTournamentare a part of the

fundraisingpromotionalenergy thatJohn brought and stillactivelypromotes today.Some years later in 2003,we were ableto purchase the property fromthe Burkafamily.This

made it feasible forus toadd a grand newsecond story ontop of ouroriginal space.The scope of work was tremendous,partly because wedid notwantto close ourdoors during

anypart of thebuildout.The work took longerthan expected andcostmorethatexpected butthe results areoutstanding.Weare very pleased with the2007 completion of our

newNon-Smoking Club Level.We encourageyou tostop inand "checkout"our newlevel that boasts1 – 10ft.projection and 2 – 8 ft.projectionscreen televisions, 28 – 42”HD

LCDs, 6 – 37”LCDsand a State-of-the-art soundbooth.

Wecontinually strive fora place that peoplecan go toany day of theweek.We are open 365daysa year.We offer nice size portions of good food ata reasonable

price.It isour goal tomakeeveryCrystalCity Sports Pub experience a pleasant one.We arethankful forour dedicatedcustomers andstaff whohave made it possible forus to
