3000 farmers appreciated the weather forecast SMS service during the Kisaan Melas on March & September 2013 at CCS HAU Hisar
More than 50 farmers contacted daily for registration of weather based agro-advisory SMS services through phone/personal contact.
Weather forecast through Mobile/SMS on real time is
very useful in day to day field work.
One separate column for weather forecast and agro advisory should reserve in every newspaper by GoI.
AAS has an active role in yield enhancement
Users complemented for improved accuracy of weather forecast
Farmers showed overwhelming response for weather based AAS

Weather forecast Agro-Advisory
High Tmax
Keep animals in sheds during noon hours and
provide plenty of cool water mixed with
minerals for drinking.
Use fans, coolers to decrease the heat stress in
poultry farms or raise curtain in south-west
direction and make them wet during noon
hours. Provide clean drinking water. Avoid
feeding during extreme day time.
Low rainfall Send big fishes to market and shift small
fishes in one pond from other ponds
Status of Grant
Submitted the UC/SE in proper format and Grants have
been received.
APRs of AMFUs have already been submitted to HQ,
New Delhi and Agrimet Division, IMD, Pune .

earliest
