Beer Corner Competitive Tap

The Canadian beer industry as a whole generates roughly $5.8 billion dollars per year in revenue and also employs approximately 163,000 people across Canada, or 1 job out of every 100.

However the draught segment accounts for only 9% of the beer industry; which is down from 11% in 2005. With the explosion of craft brewing in Canada it is becoming more and more difficult for any brewery to keep their existing draught customers and also attract new ones. That is why it is so important to ensure that draught systems are properly maintained with the right equipment and cleaned on a regu-lar basis.

Doug Sutton, is an entrepreneur with a passion to provide a work environment that challengesa team to exceed customer expectations.

Doug has founded and owned businesses in the Beverage Dispensing Industry for the last three decades. In 1990, he and two partners founded one of the regions first BIB companies, which specialized in the sale of soda and juice concentrates to the foodservice industry.

Following the sale of this company in 1993, Doug pursued opportunities with a select group of manufacturers that provided the foundation to establish a sales agency. The sales agency’s product line-up consisted of beverage dispensing products that focused on the beer, liquor and soda segments of the industry. The success of his agency and the demand for its products paved the way for Doug to create Canadian Beverage Supply Inc.

In 1997, Canadian Beverage Supply Inc. was founded, its mandate was clear; provide the industry with a wholesale distribution business that was innovative, customer focused and passionate about making a difference. Today, Canadian Beverage Supply Inc. has two locations in Canada totaling over 26,000 square feet, employing 23 people and supply-ing products and services to the industry’s largest company’s. Doug is very active in CBS, with most of his time spent managing the business, developing innovative products, and building long lasting relationships with International, National and Regional Customers.

Foam on Beer Detectors - FOBs

Most establishment owners think of Foam on Beer Detectors (FOBs) a luxury or an unnecessary expense, which is simply not the case.

Generally, FOBs are recommended for long draw systems to prevent the beer lines from filling with foam when changing kegs. The ensuing pour-off, while reestablishing equilibrium, is essentially profits down the drain. This unfortunate reality isevident in all draught beer dispensing systems, long and short.

Be sure to check out CBS’s new line of FOBs, which are compact in design, easy to maintain and essential for profit retention.
