Career Background Chris has over 28 years experience specializing in helping global business transforma<on teams get off to the right start as the leader of KPMG’s Transforma<on Enablement Centre. He is a Cer<fied Business Process Management Professional (CBPP), and cer<fied Project Management Professional (PMP). Chris has served the BPM profession over the last three years on the interna<onal board of directors for the Associa<on of Business Process Management Professionals (ABPMP) as the Vice President of Informa<on Services and as the Vice President of Cer<fica<on. He is also a credited reviewer of the Third Edi<on of the Business Process Management Common Body of Knowledge and has overseen the development of the new Cer<fied Business Process Associate (CBPA®) cer<fica<on with an interna<onal team of BPM experts. Chris has spoken on the topic of Business Process Analysis for audiences at Gartner Group, Process World and is in high demand at globally for his knowledge and pragma<c approach to integra<ng BPM with large scale business transforma<on programs. What is the CBPA®? • ABPMP International now offers two levels of
internationally recognized certification for business transformation professionals:
– Certified Business Process Professional (CBPP®)
– Certified Business Process Associate (CBPA®)
• This is a truly international vendor independent BPM credential prepared in partnership with the European Association of Business Process Management (EABPM)
• The CBPA® is for individuals who may be fairly new to the business transformation profession. It recognizes the broad-based foundation level skills of the profession.
• CBPA’s® have a solid understanding of BPM concepts and may have some work experience the field, but do not have the full four years of hands-on experience required for the CBPP®

• The target for CBPA® is the practitioner who has completed (or is in the process of) his or her under graduate college or university degree
• Individuals with 1250 hours of documented hands-on BPM related work experience may also qualify to sit for the CBPA®. Up to 625 hours of hands-on BPM related education may be credited towards this
• Allows individuals who are newer to the business transformation profession to demonstrate their understanding of skills needed to succeed in BPM and stand out among their peers with their employers.

What Does the CBPA® Exam Cover? The CBPA® was developed by an interna<onal team of prac<cing business transforma<on professionals and BPM educators. This is a two hour computer based exam consis<ng of 90 mul<ple choice ques<ons covering topics from each chapter of the BPM-‐CBOK® Third Edi<on. The CBPA® cer<fica<on is the first step towards acquiring the CBPP® creden<al and recogni<on as having the highest level of professional competency as a BPM prac<<oner. You can also choose to remain a CBPA® by earning 30 Con<nuing Professional Educa<on (CPE) credits ’s every three years through our CBPA® Recer<fica<on Program:
How Do I Apply for the Exam? Star<ng on 22 January, 2015, the Associa<on of Business Process Management Professionals Interna<onal is accep<ng on-‐line applica<ons for the CBPA® cer<fica<on program on ABPMP.org There are two versions of the applica<on:
• Candidates with a qualifying 4 year college or university degree
– Individuals possessing minimum of a Bachelors Degree (or global equivalent) in a qualifying area of science
– Management, accounting, organization, marketing, technology, communications or engineering are good examples
• Candidates without a qualifying 4 year degree
– Individuals who have at least 1250 hours of documented hands-on work experience in two or more BPM management disciplines defined in the BPM-CBOK®
– May receive credit for up to 625 hours of BPM related education or training towards work experience requirement
• All candidates are required to sign and abide by our Code of Ethics. Details can be found on the application form and in the CBPA® Examination Overview Handbook available on ABPMP.org
Where Can I Take The CBPA® Exam? • The most common way to sit for the CBPA® is to take a
computer based exam at a certified Kryterion Testing Center • With a worldwide network of testing centers, the Kryterion
Testing Network (KTN) strategically positions locations so exam takers will have a minimal distance to travel.
• Each testing center conforms to strict standards to ensure that all candidates have a consistent experience.
• When scheduling for an exam, candidates have access to a locator that enables them to find a center, test date and time that is convenient for them.
• Proctors are required to follow standard operating procedures and are certified to ensure the highest level of security and customer care.
• Approved applicants will be sent a special link to register and pay for the CBPA® examination on the Kryterion website
• The CBPA® exam may also be offered as part of a public BPM related conference, a local ABPMP Chapter event, or as part of a BPM focused education program.

How Do I Prepare for the CBPA® Exam?
• Much of the content contained in the exam is based on the BPM Common Body of Knowledge Third Edition.
• A complimentary copy of the BPM-CBOK® is available through a paid membership in ABPMP International. You can also purchase this publication from Amazon.com or directly from ABPMP International for a nominal fee.
• Before you apply, please read the CBPA® Examination Overview Handbook. It has a list of recommended reading sources – books, articles and columns by leading business process management authors and other tips to help prepare for the exam in addition to your previous work or education experiences. The Handbook is available on ABPMP.org at no charge
• There are a growing number of organizations offering courses and review materials to help you prepare for CBPA® examination through the ABPMP International Registered Training Provider (RTP) Program and other regional venues.

• To encourage a large pool of beta exam participants for the CBPA®, special pricing is available through 31 March 2015
• The CBPA® exam is offered at no extra charge for current Professional Members of ABPMP International (a USD $320 value)
