Save the Date: Working Bee Saturday 18 May 1st April 2019 Week 10 Term 1, 2019 FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK: Dear Parents and Friends of Cawdor PS In the past two weeks I have been very proud of the leadership and school involvement that have been shown by so many of our Cawdor students. The Year 6 students worked together very well to devise a plan to help the younger students in their lunchtime play. As a result we now have senior students refereeing handball games and teaching others about good sportsmanship. Caitlin Parker and Mataya English showed wonderful initiative in organising a lunchtime gymnastics group and the library monitors have been providing the younger students with some fun lunchtime activities on Wednesdays. At the Election Day barbecue I was also so impressed by three girls—Edie Bright, Maddeline Vella and Caitlin Parker— who showed great school spirit by selling many books of raffle tickets to raise money for the school. Many voters on the day commented on the girls’ confidence and good manners. They were a credit to the school. A huge thank you goes to Mrs Parker, Mrs Bright and all the parents who supported the Election Day barbecue and cake stall. The money raised will cover the cost of two laptop charging stations (which have already been installed!). Fourteen laptops have also been recently purchased using school funds. The teachers and students are excited about using the laptops in their learning programs from the start of term 2. The children are getting very excited about Grandparents and Grandfriends Day which will take place next Tuesday, 9 April. We are looking forward to having our special guests with us, starting with a picnic lunch at 1.00pm. ANZAC Day this year falls in the school holidays but Cawdor will still be taking part in the march and service. Information about the day is in the newsletter. All students are invited to represent the school in the march. In Week 10 the student council is holding a talent show for the whole school, to raise money for the Australian Koala Foundation. As the talent show is a fun activity for the students and is being held in the church, we are unable to invite parents to come along. Watch out for the “koalas” on the day who will be collecting gold coin donations for the Koala Foundation. As this is the last newsletter for the term I would like to thank you all for your continuing support of the school and wish you all an enjoyable and restful holiday. FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK: Dear Parents and Friends of Cawdor PS
In the past two weeks I have been very proud of the leadership and school
involvement that have been shown by so many of our Cawdor students. The
Year 6 students worked together very well to devise a plan to help the
younger students in their lunchtime play. As a result we now have senior

We wobbled on a wobble board, jumped on the
