Description
CATIA Shape
ICEM Shape introduction in the CATIA V5 portfolio
Sustaining its principles of seamless data flow using one common data formatthroughout the CATIA V5 portfolio across all phases of the design cycle, ICEMShape Design (ISD) R20 extends its advanced and powerful free-form surfacecreation, modification, and analysis capabilities within the Class A modeling domain.Protecting your investment in previous releases and supporting seamless migration,ISD R20 further adopts and supports CATIA V5's trusted methodology and provenupdate mechanisms.
Creation of subdivision instances
This new command offers you the ability to create one or more instances of anyexisting subdivision feature. The instance can be a subdivision surface or any kindof subdivision feature, such as symmetry, revolution, and extrusion. After creatingthe instance, you can move it freely and easily rotate it. Numerous products containmany repetitive pieces, such as pearls in a necklace or the four wheel rims on acar. Imagine & Shape now addresses the creation of these types of repetitive pieceswith an easy-to-use solution that is fully integrated with the Imagine & Shapeworkbench.
Alignment of points along any geometry
The Alignment command aligns vertices on a plane or a line defined by the compass.Enhancements to the command extend the possible supports of projection byproviding a way to project some points of the base mesh onto any kind of geometry. This gives you the freedom to use styled geometry as input to the design process.
Automatic surface associativity
The Quick Surface Reconstruction 2 workbench provides a fully automatic commandfor quickly building surfaces fitted on meshes. The Automatic Surface Reconstructioncommand is now associative. This enables interactive editing and automatic updateof the surface in case of input mesh modification or replacement, increasingproductivity.
Mesh selection and propagation for surface creation
This new function makes it easier to select meshes. You can now quickly selectplane areas on meshes. Additionally, within the Activate command, flooding can beachieved with an angle criterion, and in the PowerFit command, you can activate asub-part of a mesh to avoid counter-draft treatment during the approximation.

Shape creation enhancements in the FreeStyle Shaper
It is now possible to control the styling fillet with greater precision.
• The dialog box is redesigned.
• The Furtive Display command is enhanced (only the ribbon is taken into account).
• A new support for fictive edges is introduced (no real intersection betweensupports is needed).
• Multi-result management (as in Generative Shape Design) is added.
Shape modification enhancements
Shape modification offers many enhancements to the control points function, theExtend command, and the styling Extrapolate command. The break creation processis also made easier, with more possibilities for the creation of the datum featurethat will save time. Evolution of the Matching Constraint command adds functions toimprove productivity.
Isolation of Generative Shape Design (GSD) features
You can now isolate any GSD feature. Isolating a feature breaks any links with itsinputs so that the feature becomes a datum feature that cannot be updated. Thisproductivity enhancement eliminates the need to copy the geometry of the featureand then replace the feature with the copy.
Fillet - Blend Corner robustness
It is now possible to define a blend corner with a setback that exceeds the initialedge.
Dynamic sectioning in Part Design and Generative Shape Design
This new command lets you cut a part at a position chosen dynamically by movinga 3D section directly in the 3D viewer. This function can be useful during the designprocess itself, to visualize the part being designed by section, or at review time, todetect potential section issues.
CATIA Mechanical
Section and thread management
Even though thread definition does not generate geometry, the CATIA wall thicknessanalysis function can optionally take into account existing thread and tap featuresin order to measure real material thickness. Moreover, because you can sectiongeometry, you can store sections dynamically in the Wall Thickness Analysiscommand in order to save critical zones and to get quick access to them. Sectionscan be used for review during design, thanks to their status, comment, andthickness values.
2D Layout for 3D Design - Multi-plane section views
Offset and aligned section views or section cuts can be created in layouts, ratherthan in drawings only. Such multi-plane views can be created either from afunctional tolerancing and analysis (FTA) view or capture or from a polyline locatedin an existing layout view. In offset section views, parts are cut by several parallelstaggered planes, to display a hole silhouette in a cylinder head for instance. Inaligned section views, the part is cut by secant planes and is drawn as if this cuttingsurface was unfolded.
The 3D model is displayed according to the cutting profile, using 2D layout viewfilters to insure proper display of both 3D geometry and annotations. Boundaryobjects can be created and edited to obtain the relevant display of cutting profilecorners in the multi-plane view. These multi-plane views can be generated todrawings.

• Create a catalog of tolerancing schemas
• Create user default tolerancing schema catalog definitions
You benefit from automatic creation of tolerances for user features as well as
• User feature selection propagation
• Group of user feature tolerance creation
• User feature tolerancing schema query and filtering
Global copy of FTA data
FTA data can now be copied globally from one CATPart to another. This capabilitylets you duplicate an existing annotation set feature from a CATPart to anotherCATPart document. It includes automatic rerouting to geometric elements that havethe exact same geometric characteristics.
Clipping plane enhancement
Support is added for offset/aligned section view/cut. If the active view is acomponent of an Aligned/Offset Section Cut/View feature, the corresponding 3DAligned/Offset clipping is displayed.
Wall-on-edge propagation
To define a wall-on-edge feature, you can select several edges that will generateseveral folds. Folds and their tips are automatically re-limited according to aminimum gap value between them.
User stamp on both sides
In addition to improving the user interface, this option allows you to create stampsin two opposite directions in a single operation.
Chamfer recognition
The feature recognition function now recognizes chamfers.
Intersection fillets for functional modeling
This release improves intersection fillet stability by computing it at the minimalintersection level. More modifications on previous features can occur with no failureon intersection fillet definition and computation.
Local Work for functional modeling
This command, similar to the Define in Work command, lets you work locally in asimplified context, such as a sub-part of a part, by selecting a functional set or a listof features. It reduces the impact of part complexity.
SDNF Import/Export command
This enhancement supplies the capability to export structure information into aneutral file format called a steel detailing neutral file (SDNF). SDNF is designed tobe expandable to meet future needs and capabilities. All information in the file isin ASCII format and is structured into packets of information. It also provides the

capability to import a valid SDNF file with structure information and to use it tocreate structures under a specified product.
Advanced bill of material
Support for user-defined product attributes is added. This enhancement enablesyou to extract from the bill of material not only the predefined CATIA attributes ofproducts, but also the attributes added by users through the Other Propertiesfunction.
Section and auxiliary view callouts
Within a 3D master process, this function allows you to natively get a normalizedrepresentation of callouts in layouts, rather than in drawings only. Calloutrepresentations corresponding to auxiliary views, section views, section cuts andmulti-plane section views can be added to existing design views. This can be donewhile creating such views or afterwards, using the same styles and properties as thedrafting callouts that are created in drawings when generating the correspondinglayout view.
Dynamic sectioning in Part Design
This new command lets you cut a part at a position chosen dynamically by movinga 3D section directly in the 3D viewer. This function can be useful during the designprocess itself, to visualize the part being designed by section, or at review time, todetect potential section issues.
Intersection edge fillet for Part Design
This release offers an additional Intersection Against Selected Features definitionmode. When you want to create a fillet between features, you can define two lists offeatures by selection. The fillet will run on the intersection edges that run betweenthese two lists.
Joggle enhancement request
This option allows you to locate the extremity of the joggle with respect to its joggleplane. Either the end radius extremity or the run-out extremity can be locatedexactly on the joggle plane.
Compare and review
This release introduces a compare and review function that can be used to supporta review and approval process for design geometric changes. It speeds the approvalprocess for a new revision of a part geometry and makes it easier to understand theimpact of part modifications to downstream processes such as tooling, machining, analysis, and inspection.

• Fully automatic meshing of complex surface geometry: Once the rules havebeen defined, you only need to push a button, and Rules Based Meshing generatesthe mesh automatically. Automatic meshing greatly increases productivity becausemuch less time is spent making manual improvements to the mesh.
• Higher quality surface meshes with fewer elements: The end-result of therules-based meshing process is a higher quality and more efficient surface meshthan was possible previously. The mesh is optimized based on the rules, which ismuch more efficient than manual operations. Rather than modifying and refiningthe mesh where you notice problems, Rule Based Meshing considers the meshingproblem in a global sense and does not need to over-refine to meet meshingobjectives.
• User-defined rules to completely govern the treatment of commongeometric entities: Rules Based Meshing can recognize common geometricentities, such as holes, fillets, and beads, and treat them in a manner consistentwith your requirements. For example, you can specify that holes with a diameterof less than 5 mm be removed, holes between 5 mm and 10 mm should havea single washer layer of six elements around the circumference, whereas holeswith a diameter between 10 mm and 15 mm have two washer layers aroundthe circumference. Using this approach, you can ensure consistent treatment ofgeometry from one region to the next and from one model to the next.
• Pre-specified mesh quality targets to guide the mesher to create mesheswith the desired level of quality: In addition to consistent treatment ofcommon geometric entities, Rules Based Meshing lets the you specify meshquality targets to satisfy objectives for global quality. You can specify limits forelement geometry, such as minimum edge length, element aspect ratio, andelement skewness, to ensure that element shape is not detrimental to simulationresults.
• Consistent meshing results for all geometries subjected to the samemeshing: Because Rules Based Meshing let you use the same set of rules for anynumber of part meshes, it ensures a high level of consistency in meshing results.Such consistency is very important, especially when comparing models with minorvariations. In such cases it is important that differences in the meshes do notinfluence the results.
• Easily selected meshing rules appropriate to the target discipline: Eachsimulation discipline has its own mesh requirements to produce high-qualityresults with an acceptable number of elements. With Rules Based Meshing, youcan easily select the appropriate set of rules for the target simulation discipline, such as noise vibration harshness (NVH), durability, and crash.

This release enhances the general usability of functional modeling capabilities.
CATIA - Wireframe and Surface 1 (WS1)
• Isolation of Generative Shape Design (GSD) features: You can now isolateany GSD feature. Isolating a feature breaks any links with its inputs so thatthe feature becomes a datum feature that cannot be updated. This productivityenhancement eliminates the need to copy the geometry of the feature and thenreplace the feature with the copy.
• Repetition GSD mechanism: This release adds a relative mode for the creationof repetition features. It allows you to create repeated features in an absolute(existing) or relative (new) mode. You can create repeated features relatively sothat every repeated feature refers to the parameters of the previously createdfeature.
• Repetition GSD mechanism with datum mode on: This enhancement addsthe capability of using the repetition mechanism with the datum mode on. It letsyou use the Repeat after OK command with the datum mode on, increasing theusability of the command.
• Point on curve along a direction: This new option in the Point commandenables you to create a point on a curve along a direction and an offset distance(in the direction specified).
• Multiselection mechanism enhancements: This enhancement of the datamodel for the MultiSel mechanism lets you aggregate all the common featuresof the multiselection function directly on the generated MultiOutPut feature. Itapplies to all classic CATIA behaviors, such as parent-child, historical graph, and

2D Layout for 3D Design (LO1)
• Section and auxiliary view callouts: Within a 3D master process, this functionenables you to natively get a normalized representation of callouts in layouts, rather than in drawings only. Callout representations corresponding to auxiliaryviews, section views, section cuts and multi-plane section views can be added toexisting design views. This can be done while creating such views or afterwards, using the same styles and properties as the drafting callouts that are created indrawings when generating the corresponding layout view.
• Multi-plane section views: Offset and aligned section views or section cutscan be created in layouts, rather than in drawings only. Such multi-plane viewscan be created either from an FTA view or capture or from a polyline located inan existing layout view. In offset section views, parts are cut by several parallelstaggered planes, to display a hole silhouette in a cylinder head for instance. In aligned section views, the part is cut by secant planes and is drawn as if thiscutting surface was unfolded. The 3D model is displayed according to the cuttingprofile, using 2D layout view filters to insure proper display of both 3D geometry

and annotations. Boundary objects can be created and edited to obtain therelevant display of cutting profile corners in the multi-plane view. These multi-plane views can be generated to drawings.
• New DS ISO 1 open type font and its related XML standard file: The DSISO 1 open type font helps represent annotations in a way that suits the variousISO norms for defining text representation (IS open type O 3098 norms). Thiscapability enhances the level of compliancy with both ISO and JIS norms whendrawings contain annotations that include western characters. It is also makes iteasier to make sure that any partner will be able to display such drawings in anidentical way on their machine without the need for exchange and installation of aspecific font because DS ISO 1 is provided by default.
• Direct import of DXF and DWG files and V4 Draw data into an existinglayout: DXF and DWG file content can now be directly imported into a layoutwithout going through a drawing. The same level of functionality as for DXF andDWG file import into a drawing is provided. This insures a faster path for movingto a 2D-3D approach while performing such tasks as conceptual design and plantlayout reusing legacy, supplier, or customer data.
• True type collection and font linking: Enhancements in this release supportTrue Type Collection fonts and font linking.

This functioncan be useful during the design process itself, to visualize the part being designedby section, or at review time, to detect potential section issues.
• Multiselection mechanism enhancement: Enhancements to the data modelfor the MultiSel mechanism lets you aggregate all the common features of themultiselection function directly on the generated MultiOutPut feature. It applies toall classic CATIA behaviors, such as parent-child, historical graph, and copy-paste.This enhancement makes the multiselection data model clearer.

Mechanical Design
Part Design 2 (PDG)
• Intersection edge fillet: This release offers an additional Intersection AgainstSelected Features definition mode. When you want to create a fillet betweenfeatures, you can define two lists of features by selection. The fillet will run on theintersection edges that run between these two lists.
• Edge, variable, and chordal fillet: This enhancement increases blend cornerrobustness. In tangency mode, the tangentially continuous edges of the selectededge are now managed to ensure better fillet stability and robustness. Productivityis improved because more fillets are automatically rerouted in response to designchanges. During the creation of a blend corner, concurrent edges are added inthe list of objects to fillet based on a propagation computation. This solves thechallenge posed by small sub-edges that cannot be selected easily. Consequently,a setback distance can be defined along a concurrent edge that is larger than theinitial edge first selected.
• Hole: When choosing a new standard table for the thread description of a hole, you are warned if the choice changes the diameter value.
• Threaded hole: The search in the standard file has been enhanced. If the holehas no standard, the search is done relative to the main diameter hole value. Ifthe hole already has a standard, the search is done relative to the previous threaddiameter value.
• Dynamic sectioning: A new command lets you section (display) a part.
• Enhanced angle designation when sketching a line
• Default chamfer command: You can now specify the definition mode to beactivated by default in the Chamfer command.
• Sketcher offset toolbar: The same offset toolbar used in the Interactive Draftingand 2D Layout for 3D Design products is now available in Part Design.
• Line Normal to Curve improvement:Line Normal to Curve now allows selectionof an existing point on the curve and gives access to a symmetry mode, as in thestandard line creation command. This avoids curve shape or position modification.
CATIA - Functional Molded Parts 2 (FMP)
• Intersection fillets: This release improves intersection fillet stability bycomputing them at the minimal intersection level. More modifications on previousfeatures can occur with no failure on intersection fillet definition and computation.
• Local Work: This command, similar to the Define in Work command, allows youto work locally in a simplified context, such as a sub-part of the part, by selectinga functional set or a list of features. It reduces the impact of part complexity.
• Visualization and selection of protected, internal, and core: An option isprovided to quickly get a global idea of which zone is protected among the 3Ddefinitions. Similarly added or subtracted zones can be highlighted and selecteddirectly in the geometry, enabling the 3D definition to support an easy design.
• Usability The usability of FMP capabilities is enhanced in this release.
• Flange command performance - preview management: Management ofthe Preview button in the flange creation and editing commands is handleddifferently to improve the performance of these commands.
• Thickness as a local modifier
• Dynamic sectioning: A new command lets you section (display) a part.
• Wall thickness analysis - section and thread management Even thoughthread definition does not generate geometry, the CATIA wall thickness analysisfunction can optionally take into account existing thread and tap features in orderto measure real material thickness. Moreover, because you can section geometry, you can store sections dynamically in the Wall Thickness Analysis command in

order to save critical zones and to get quick access to them. Sections can be usedfor review during design, thanks to their status, comment, and thickness values.
CATIA - Cast & Forged Part Optimizer 2 (CFO)
• Section and thread management: Even though thread definition does notgenerate geometry, the CATIA wall thickness analysis function can optionally takeinto account existing thread and tap features in order to measure real materialthickness. Moreover, because you can section geometry, you can store sectionsdynamically in the Wall Thickness Analysis command in order to save critical zonesand to get quick access to them. Sections can be used for review during design, thanks to their status, comment, and thickness values.

• Offset constraints on section profiles
• Detail callout arrow orientation compliance to standards This enhancementchanges arrow orientation so that the default orientation is compliant withinternational standards.
• Approximate view update status independent of file operations: Forperformance purposes, the current behavior of the update status is based on thefile time stamp. With this release, you can choose to use the pre-V5.16 algorithm, which is based on the CATIA internal time stamp. Using this algorithm willmaintain the view up-to-date when 3D files are re-saved without modifications.
• Persistency of GVS during updates: This behavior guarantees that the viewupdate is independent from the Tools-Options values. Changing the Prevent GVSoption no longer changes the result of the view update.

• Geometry connection management: This enhancement produces a geometric3D display for deleted geometric components to help you to perform manualreroutes.
• Individual deletion of FTA result feature: FTA results can be deletedindividually. This feature lets you remove one or more FTA result features. FTAresult features are light features that are dedicated to review purposes andare not editable. They are generated by multi-CAD applications or by exportingV6 products and 3D shape representations to CATIA CATProduct and CATPartdocuments using the downward compatibility tool. This capability supports long-term archiving using STEP.
• Additional values for general tolerancing: This enhancement lets youcustomize the general tolerance values that can be set for dimensions.
• Runout creation on revolute surfaces: The runout tolerance feature framemust be created using the FTA tolerance advisor because the METROLOG softwarecannot recognize the tolerance setting without the rules-based advisor.
• Global copy of annotation sets: This capability allows you to reuse annotationset specifications and presentations of a part representation by completeduplication into another part representation that is a variant of the first one. The

The created framed (basic) dimensionscompletely define the theoretical positions of tolerance zones of geometrictolerances according to ISO and ASME standards.
• Display view: This capability provides an optimal context for checking a view.Only the annotations associated with the view are displayed. The window isanimated to turn the view parallel to the screen with the X axis on the horizontal. The selected view is activated.
• Support for offset/aligned 3D clipping (CGR and 3DXML): This enhancementprovides a way to clearly display both the geometry of several inside features andtheir 3D corresponding annotations at the same time by cutting the geometry ofthe part or of the product following a section profile. The available views are madeup with offset section views, offset section cuts, aligned section views, or alignedsection cuts.
• New DS ISO 1 open type font and its related XML standard file: The DSISO 1 open type font helps represent annotations in a way that suits the variousISO norms for defining text representation (IS open type O 3098 norms). It is now defined in the unfold mode(on the flattened view) to avoid this deviation and to ensure that fibers will not becut in the flattening process.
• Composites in an assembly context in the grid design process: This newprocess allows you to design a composites part using a grid in the assemblycontext. The design of large composites parts (aerospace barrels or turbine wings, for instance) can be processed in an assembly context with their mating structuralelements. These structural elements, such as stiffeners, stringers, or frames, are taken into account through their footprints as displayed on a grid panel.

The grid definition also includes staggering data and thickness laws or stackingsequences. The ply stacking can be controlled in a virtual representation by themanagement of cells and of the ply order, and it can be compared to the originalgrid requirement. The plies are then generated from the grid with automaticmanagement for stacking and staggering. You can manage the ply drop-offthrough patterns or through manual modifications. A specific ramp curve can beimposed as a route to the contours of a set of plies. Other ply optimizations, suchas angle cut, merge, and symmetry, are available.
• Generation of composites parts by solid slicing: With the solid design, youcan define the plies of a composites part from zones with an imposed heightfrom the reference surface. The solid creation is improved for greater precision, especially when defining the drop-off features to complete the global shape of thesolid. The solid is sliced in order to obtain contours, and the plies are generatedfrom these contours so that they are associative with every previous definitionfeature.
CATIA - Composites Design for Manufacturing 2 (CPM)
The following are in addition to the enhancements to CATIA - CompositesEngineering 2 (CPE).
• Skin swapping - wrap curve mode This release offers a new skin swappingmode that uses wrap curve (shape morphing) technology.
• Skin swapping - unfold mode With the unfold mode, one or several plies canbe developed on the manufacturing surface during the drape forming process, provided the mold surface is flat. This mode enables designers to take intoaccount the manufacturing process when creating parts requiring a zone slicingapproach, such as spars, stringers, stretchers or stiffeners with U, I, or C shapes. This simulation capability increases producibility because it visualizes the deviationconstraints of the fibers relative to perpendicularity.
Shape Design and Styling

• Curve projection on a mesh: A new option in the Curve projection dialog boximplements the same behavior as Generative Shape Design command. The dialogbox is modified with a new Nearest option. If the nearest option is checked, thebehavior is the same as before. The Nearest option can be unchecked only if youproject a curve along a direction on a mesh. If the Nearest option is unchecked, the curve is extruded along the projection direction. The resulting scan is theintersection between the mesh and this extrusion.
• Geometric tolerances checker: A new Geometric Tolerancing Checkercommand allows you to check easily, quickly, and automatically if a digitizedobject (as manufactured) respects the geometric dimensioning and tolerancing(GD&T) of a numerical mock-up (as designed).

Prerequisites for the license management environment
Microsoft Windows workstations must have an active LAN card (Ethernet or tokenring) and TCP/IP installed and properly configured, even in the case of nodelockkeys, though for nodelock there is no need to have the workstations connected tothe network. No additional license management software is required when accessingnodelock license keys.
IBM License Use Management (LUM) is required to serve concurrent license keysacross a network. A LUM configuration file (i4ls.ini) is required on CATIA V5clients to access concurrent license keys from these servers. Server and Nodelocklicense management mechanisms are available for CATIA V5 P1, P2, and P3 on allsupported operating environments.
The minimum IBM LUM level is V4.6.8.3.
The latest release of IBM LUM, together with any applicable patches, can bedownloaded at no charge from
http://www.ibm.com/software/lum
For details about LUM license management for CATIA V5, refer to the licensemanagement model topic in the Use limitation applies section.
Macro replay capabilities
CATIA V5 has built-in macro record and replay capabilities. For UNIX, the interpreteris VB Script 3.0 from Mainsoft. Its components are included in CATIA V5 as sharedlibraries.
For Windows, the interpreter is either:
• VB Script at a minimum level of V5.0. It is delivered with Microsoft InternetExplorer. VB Script libraries at level 5.0.0.3715 are delivered with MicrosoftInternet Explorer 5.0 or at later levels with later versions of Internet Explorer.Use of VB Script is recommended for developing Microsoft Windows- and UNIX-compatible macros.
• Microsoft VisualBasic for Applications (VBA) at a minimum level of 6.0. VBA isdelivered and installed by default with CATIA V5.
Printer and plotter support
• UNIX - CATIA V5 supports the following plotter/printer languages:
– CGM-ISO, ATA, CALS
– Hewlett Packard HP-GL/2-RTL and HP-GL or IBM-GL subsets
– OCE Graphics GPR50: VDF plotting routines
– PostScript®
• Windows - Printers and plotters are supported through the vendor's drivers for thetargeted printer or plotter relative to the targeted version of the operating system.Contact the printer or plotter vendor for requirements and support.

CATIA V5 general packaging principles
• A CATIA P1 product or a CATIA P1 configuration requires or must include (in thecase of configurations) CATIA - Object Manager 1 (CO1). P1 products can beused on P2 or P3, and in such cases, they operate with CATIA - Object Manager 2(COM) or CATIA - Object Manager 3 (CO3), respectively.
• A CATIA P2 product or a CATIA P2 configuration requires, or must include (inthe case of configurations), CATIA - Object Manager 2 (COM). P2 products canbe used on P3, and in such cases, they operate with CATIA - Object Manager 3(CO3).
• CATIA - COM 1 to 2 Extension (C12) allows all P2 products to be added on to P1configurations. The C12 product effectively upgrades the P1 infrastructure (CO1)to the P2 infrastructure (COM). The C12 product does not change the underlyingP1 configuration; included products remain P1. The C12 product can be used as ashareable (C12) or add-on (C12) product.
• A CATIA P3 product or a CATIA P3 configuration requires or must include (in thecase of configurations) CATIA - Object Manager 3 (CO3). P1, P2, and P3 shareableand add-on products are available to P3 configurations as shareable or add-onproducts.
• License keys for CATIA configurations are acquired and released for the totalconfiguration.
• The functions within a configuration cannot be shared.
• A configuration is required for each CATIA V5 seat.
• CATIA V5 add-on (AOP) and sharable products may require prerequisite productsthat are not included in a standard purchased configuration. When a prerequisiteproduct is not included in the selected standard configuration, both the AOP andits prerequisite products must be purchased and included as AOPs within a customconfiguration. Prerequisites for shareable products can be satisfied by a standardconfiguration, by an AOP within a custom configuration, or by a shareable product.
• CATIA - V4 Integration 2 (V4I) is included in all P2 and P3 configurations, andCATIA - V4 Integration 1 (V41) is included in all P1 configurations.

System program orders (SPOs)
CATIA V5 programs for all platforms (UNIX and Microsoft Windows) are shippedunder the 5628-ACN SPO. The SPO is required for all program shipments and futureupdates.
Initial orders placed for a program type 5691 without a corresponding order or MESfor the 5628-ACN SPO will either fail order validation or will not generate a mediashipment. Each customer number must have its own SPO.
New 5628-ACN program function codes
The following no-charge program function codes are used with the 5628-ACN systemprogram order. These function codes are used for shipment of media.
When ordering the first 5691 configuration for CATIA V5, an order must also beplaced for the 5628-ACN SPO. Both the 5691 program order and the SPO must befor the same CPU system type/system number and must have the same scheduledshipment date.
Subsequent orders
The SPO must have a feature number for every CATIA V5 configuration that isinstalled or on-order. Therefore, when a configuration that was not previouslyinstalled is ordered, the SPO must be updated.
• To update an on-order system: When a license for a new 5691 program is orderedfor an on-order system, the 5628-ACN SPO must be updated to reflect the featurenumber of the licensed program desired. Also, for asset registration and billingpurposes an order for the individual licensed program type 5691 is required.
• To update an installed system: When a license for a new 5691 program is orderedfor an installed system, the 5628-ACN SPO must be updated to reflect the featurenumber of the licensed program desired.

Terms and conditions
Location license applies
No
Use limitation applies
Yes, as implemented by the license management model described.
The license management model
CATIA V5 license management model. CATIA controls the number of concurrentusers of a CATIA configuration or product, according to the number of license keysacquired for the configuration or product.
CATIA V5 delivers identical license management mechanisms on UNIX and Windowsenvironments, based on IBM License Use Management (LUM). The following licensemanagement principles apply:
• A CATIA V5 configuration (standard or custom) will require a license key.License keys for CATIA V5 configurations are acquired and released for the totalconfiguration. The products within a configuration cannot be shared.
• Each CATIA V5 shareable product will require a license key, in addition to one forthe prerequisite configuration and any prerequisite product, if applicable.
• In all cases, CATIA configuration license keys are acquired at the beginning of theprocess and are released at its termination.
• CATIA V5 add-on (AOP) and shareable products may require license keys forprerequisite products that are not already included in a standard configuration.Prerequisites for shareable products can be satisfied by a standard configuration,by an AOP within a custom configuration, or by a shareable product. However, because all add-on products are defined within one custom license key, any AOPprerequisites must be satisfied by either a standard configuration or by otherAOPs purchased and defined within the same custom configuration.
CATIA V5 can be used in three license management modes: nodelock, withconcurrent usage of license keys on a network, or concurrent offline licensemanagement.
Nodelock usage: The use of a local display is mandatory for CATIA V5 usage innodelock mode. There is no limit to the number of CATIA V5 processes launched fora given license key (configuration or product). For instance, a user can launch thefollowing simultaneous processes:
• A V5 interactive session
• A V5 process executed through an OLE container application
• Replay of macros recorded from captured sequences of V5 user interactions
In the nodelock mode of operation, only one CATIA license key per configurationand shareable product can be registered per machine, and only one CATIA user

can run at a time on that machine. If multiple license keys per configuration orshareable product, or multiple users on a single machine, are required, refer to theConcurrent usage section.
Concurrent usage: A user on one machine on one display uses one license key perconfiguration or shareable product used, regardless of the number of processes. Ifthe display changes, then an additional license key is taken for the correspondingprocess.
Dynamic license management: CATIA shareable product license keys can beacquired and released during the session. (The ability to acquire and release licensesis not available for configurations.) Shareable license keys acquired at the beginningof the session cannot be released before the end of the session; only license keysdynamically granted upon user request during the session can be released duringthe session.
Concurrent offline license management: A concurrent license key controltechnique is available via the LUM server. It gives CATIA, ENOVIA DMU, DELMIA,and RADE applications running on a Windows laptop the ability to disconnect fromthe license key server for a specific period of time. During the checkout period, theserver license key is unavailable for use by another concurrent user. This feature isdesigned to add additional flexibility to a user's work environment. It is offered toaccommodate short-term travel needs and collaboration while away from a fixedoffice environment or server connection. All ICA terms and conditions, includingcross-border licensing terms, are unchanged, and users will check-out and check-in license keys at their home server, where rules and procedures are controlled byLUM.
Note to users of the following ENOVIA SmarTeam-branded CATIAintegration products:
• SmarTeam - CATIA Team PDM Configuration (TDM)
• SmarTeam - CATIA Integration Product (CAI)
• SmarTeam - CATIA Web Team PDM Configuration (TDW)
These ENOVIA SmarTeam products do not support dynamic or concurrent offlinelicense management. Licenses for these products are acquired dynamically when thefunction is invoked from CATIA and may not be released until the CATIA session isended.

During the Program Services period, Corrective Service for CATIA V5 releasesis delivered through service packs on a regular basis. A service pack includescorrections for Blocking Problems in production systems reported on this release andall corrections available for all components at the time it is built. Service packs areprovided at the same time for all platforms currently supported. Each service packsupersedes the previous one and may be installed on top of the released level or ontop of a previous service pack.
Customers may request a correction via a service pack for Blocking Problems. ABlocking Problem is defined as:
• A problem that stops production: The customer is currently using the level forwhich a fix is requested in a production environment.
• A problem that prevents migration: The customer must provide the migrationplan.
• A problem that halts testing of a given level: A fix will allow customer to continuethe testing.
• Installation problem: A problem that prevents the customer from installing orusing the product.

LUM products are not included in the enhanced support offering; LUMproblems will receive the Program Services level of support and must be submittedvia the Problem Reporting process at the PLM Technical Support web site at
Program Services will be provided for this release of CATIA V5 products (V5.20) untilOctober 19, 2012. After that date, should it be necessary for customers who areup-to-date on their Annual License Charge (ALC) payments to extend support, asupport extension will be available for an additional fee.
This extension is for 1 year only, with no possibility of renewal, and will be limitedto support of critical situations found in production running on an announced, supported environment and subject to the availability and maintainability ofOperating Systems, databases, middleware and hardware (clients and servers) atthe time the critical situation is reported. Critical situation means a Severity 1 defectthat is blocking production and has no workable alternative to unblock production.
In order to ensure uninterrupted support, support extension requests should besubmitted at least 6 months prior to the end of support date through the customer'smarketing team or Business Partner.
This extension of support will not constitute an alternative to the customer'smigration to the latest release or version of the installed products and therefore thecustomer is obligated to have a documented and viable migration plan to the latestrelease or version in order to obtain an extension of support.
