Support the Production of our Bulletin Producing our own
bulletin allows us to meet the needs of the three lan-
guages. If we were to send this bulletin out to be produced, we
would have
to have one bulletin in English only for everyone and the
publications of the
Readings in Italian and Spanish would have to come to an end.

MASS INTENTIONS My dear brothers and sisters we are in the
second Sunday of Advent. As a family of God’s children, we continue
to move in the hope of receiving the fulfillment of God’s promise,
preparing for Jesus’ birthday and His second coming again into the
world. During Advent and especially with this weekend’s readings,
we are taught how great our need is for Christ. In this Sunday’s
Gospel St. Luke introduces St. John the Baptist by describing a
very spe-cific place and time. St. John the Baptist cousin of
Jesus, and the last prophet, preaches about conversion, how to
change the sinful life, to have a change of heart and accept the
Lord. For this reason, let us not allow our hearts to be hardened.
Our hearts become hardened because of our sins and especially when
we don’t feel sor-ry for our sinful acts. In this special season
let us take the right path in our lives if we have lost our way.
Let us walk with the Lord who in the sacrament of reconcilia-tion
cleanses us from our sins, then in that way we will be prepared for
His birthday and second coming “Prepare the way of the Lord, make
his path straight.” May the Blessed Virgin Mary help us to prepare
the Nativity of her Son Jesus Christ the Em-manuel. Rev. Josue
Vargas Lara
Prayer to Saint Michael Saint Michael, the Archangel, defend us
in battle. Be our safe-guard against the wickedness and snares of
the devil. May God rebuke him, we hum-
bly pray; and do you, O Prince of the heav-enly host, by the
power of God cast in-to hell Satan and all the evil spirits who
wander through the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
Prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary We take refuge under your
protec-tion, oh Holy Mother of God. Des-pise not our petitions in
our necessi-ties, but deliver us always from all
dangers, oh glorious and blessed Virgin. Amen.

Planning to be a Catholic School Teacher?
It is critical for you to know that to be hired to teach in any
Catholic School Board in Ontario as part of your applica-tion for
employment you must provide a letter of recommendation from your
Pas-tor. It is highly recommended to contact the pastor a year in
advance, especially in light of the fact that all universities make
this matter known to every student at the beginning of the year.
Please plan to have a conversation with your pastor early in the
process (not the week before you are submitting your application)
and you will avoid disappointment and stress at the time when
applications are to be submitted. The following are required at St.
Jude’s: Be (yourself, not your parents or
grandparents) a registered member of the parish using offertory
envelopes (at least 1 year before the application).
Be in the parish for participation in Sunday/Saturday mass for a
minimum of 12 months prior to approaching the pastor.
Make your request 3 months in ad-vance. Applicant must be the
one mak-ing the requests.
No request by a relative or a parent will be accepted .
The pastor has to be able to recommend you, and that is only
possible if he knows you at the basic level of regular mass
attendance. Personal knowledge of the candidate’s faith practice is
what the pas-tor needs to recommend, not your rela-tives, but
yourself, as this is a personal recommendation not a family
one.
