St. Theresa Children / Youth Choir
The St. Theresa Women’s Club was filled with Christmas spirit as they were enchanted by the Christmas
Carols sung by the Children’s Choir. Present at the meeting was the founder and first President of the Club,
Paula Baldwin. Paula was honored by a special presentation given to her by the current president, Ann
Doherty and the current members of the club. It was a wonderful evening filled with friendship and fun!
Catholic Community of Billerica
Christmas Pageant We joyfully invite all families and
parishioners to attend the Billerica Catholic Christmas Pageant on the
weekend of the Epiphany, Sunday,
January 5 at 3:00 pm at St.
Theresa Church. Hospitality
will follow in the Parish Hall.
Christmas Collection Clergy Funds This Christmas, the collection will once again benefit the Clergy Health and
Retirement Trust which cares for the needs of our priests. Our priests are
always there for us; they share Christ’s good news, perform good works and
build communities of faith. Thank you in advance for your prayers and sup-
port. This is the ONLY collection for Christmas. 2019

Today’s readings offer us great hope: “the virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and
shall name him Emmanuel.” This name means “God is with us.” It is important that
we remember this especially when the world is calling us to move faster – to shop
more, to buy more. Don’t let the noise of the world drown out what you heard in
today’s readings. Amid your busyness this week repeat these words – “…they shall
name him Emmanuel – which means God is with us.” God is with YOU!
Parish Precautions to Address Flu Activity There have been clear concerns in the news this year about the severity and dangers of the
flu. Though the Archdiocese of Boston has not made any formal announcements regarding
our worship and liturgical practices, we would like to point out some common-sense prac-
tices that could promote good health for all.
Because the distribution of communion involves contact from the ministers with both hands and mouths, to
prevent the spread of flu, we ask those who are not feeling well, those who have cold or flu symptoms, and
those who have a compromised immune system to consider the following for your continued health and the
health of others:
*Consider refraining from receiving the Precious Blood of Christ from the cup while these concerns are present.
*If you normally receive the Body of Christ on the tongue, we would ask that you consider receiving in the hand. If
you choose not to receive in the hand, we would ask that you consider refraining from receiving communion while you
are experiencing cold and flu symptoms.
*At the sign of peace, if you think it is prudent to avoid contact with others, one can extend the sign of peace by simp-
ly nodding or waving to the person.
*Out of concern for our health and yours, the priests and deacon may choose to greet people after Mass without ex-
tending a hand shake.
Because we do not choose to impose or remove legitimate practices of our worship, we ask that you con-
sider you own health concerns and the health of others while at Mass. We appreciate your thoughtfulness
and care for others as we worship together.
Memorial Gift Thank You Thank you to the many parishioners who donated one of the religious items used in our
liturgies in memory of their loved one. These items will be blessed on Sunday, Janu-
ary 12 at 9:00am Mass at St. Theresa, 10:00am Mass at St. Andrew and
11:00am Mass at St. Mary.

Wreaths Across America Many of our Confirmation 1 and Confirmation 2 students attended last Saturday’s Wreaths Across America at
Fox Hill Cemetery. What a wonderful tribute to our many veterans to have so many of our youth present
to honor them in such a special way.
