Cecilia M and George Conati Scholarship for the

University of Minnesota, Crookston

The Cecilia M. and George Conati Memorial Scholar-ship Fund is a memorial provided from the Cecilia M. and George Conati Estate. The interest from the in-vestment of these funds is to provide scholarships for members of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Concep-

tion who attend the University of Minnesota, Crookston.

The following are the criteria for application to the Cecilia M. and George Conati Memorial Scholarship

Fund:

1. The applicant must be a registered member of the Ca-

thedral of the Immaculate Conception.

2. The applicant must be confirmed in the Roman Catholic

Faith.

3. The applicant must be actively involved in the worship

and activities of the Cathedral parish.

4. The applicant must be accepted for admission at the

University of Minnesota, Crookston.

5. The applicant will provide one letter of recommenda-tion from a member of the Cathedral parish who is not

a member of your family.

Letters of application may be sent to Deacon Dennis Bivens at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception

by May 25, 2018.

First Communion Weekend – May 12-13 On the weekend of Mother’s Day, we will be celebrat-ing First Holy Communion with our young people at both the 5 pm Mass on the 12th and the 9 am Mass on the 13th. If you would like to join in singing or playing an instrument for either Mass time, please contact Mary Dahl with your willingness to join in. Confirmation – May 19 Our youth are celebrating their Confirmation on Sat-urday, May 19th at 5 pm, the feast of Pentecost! How apropos! The Cathedral Choir will provide the basis for the music ministry, but we would love to add more voices and instruments to the celebration as well. Con-tact Mary Dahl with your interest! Pentecost 2018 – May 20 Our fine “Hosanna” choir will be leading the music at the 9 am Mass. All ladies, young and “more mature” are welcome to join them in preparing for this celebra-tion. Practice is the Wednesday before at 6 pm (May 16th). Contact Gaye Wick or Mary Dahl with your “yes”! High school seniors the Baccalaureate Mass will be at 9 AM on May 20th.

NOW HIRING! – Diocese of Crookston: Formator for Discipleship in Adults and Youth This positon will execute the vision of forming disciples rooted in the Gospel and guided by the vision of Pope Francis from The Joy of the Gospel. This person will serve pastors, parish staffs, parish leadership, and parishioners in the Diocese of Crookston to respond to the call to be intentional disciples, to evangelize and reach out to fallen away Catholics, and to evangelize the increasing numbers who have no religious identity. Applicants should have education and experience in such areas as service, cat-echesis, youth ministry, parish ministry, etc. The qualifying candidate needs to be a practicing Catholic who has an understanding of the teachings of the Catholic Church and the desire to promote them. Congratulations! Thank you for supporting our school! Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Tabor will serve a Smelt Fry on Saturday, April 28, at the Tabor Church Hall. Serving from 5-8 PM. Menu: “All you can eat smelt,” baked potato, salad, baked beans, onion rings, dinner rolls, including beverages of coffee, lemonade, and free beer. For non-lovers of smelt, we also serving Pollack fish. There will also be a children's menu of chicken strips and fries. Cost: Adults- $13, Children un-der 12- $5, and preschool free. The youth will be serving coffee and caramel rolls in order to

raise money for their summer trip to the Steubenville Youth Con-

ference and Wisconsin Dells this July. The conference is a week-

end experience that seeks to invite young people in grades 9-

12 to a deeper spiritual life and growth in virtue. Please stop by

to fill your stomachs and support our youth!
