Catering Opportunity to qualify as preferred provider The Foundation for a Healthy St. Petersburg is opening a Center for Health Equity at 2333 34th Street South, St. Petersburg, Fla., and is seeking vendors to serve ongoing and periodic needs at the Center. The Center for Health Equity will be a place where people from across Pinellas County can come together to find solutions to challenges that keep people and communities from achieving their best health. Groups using the Center’s meeting spaces to collaborate and create change will be supported with research, technology and trained facilitators to accelerate their work. The Center will also host health equity educational events such as speaker series, trainings, and workshops. Opportunity: Caterers of all kinds, capacities and specialties are invited to submit applications to be included on the Center’s list of approved caterers. Selection process: This invitation to apply is designed to identify vendors who can support the Center's activities, staff and mission. The steps are: 1. Interested vendors submit the appropriate application (attached) no later than Monday, July 1, 2019, at 5 p.m. by electronic mail to [email protected]; or delivered in person or post to: FHSP, 744 6th Ave South, St. Petersburg, FL 33701. Note: Applications are fillable PDF forms that applicants can download to their computers and fill out electronically, save the document locally on their computers and then attach to an email to be submitted to the Foundation by the deadline. 2. An Optional Informational Session for applicants will be held Tuesday, June 25, from 8:30 – 10 a.m. at Pinellas Technical College, Room D2 on First Floor, 901 34th St. South, St. Petersburg, FL 33711. 3. In early July, applicants chosen to continue in the selection process will tour the Center before beginning to work with Foundation staff to negotiate final contracts that outline deliverables, schedules and payments. 4. The Foundation for a Healthy St. Petersburg is opening a Center for Health Equity at 2333 34th Street South, St. Petersburg, Fla., and is seeking vendors to serve ongoing and periodic needs at the Center.

The Center for Health Equity will be a place where people from across Pinellas County can come together to find solutions to challenges that keep people and communities from achieving their best health. Groups using the Center’s meeting spaces to collaborate and create change will be supported with research, technology and trained facilitators to accelerate their work. The Center will also host health equity educational events such as speaker series, trainings, and workshops.

Opportunity: Caterers of all kinds, capacities and specialties are invited to submit applications to be included on the Center’s list of approved caterers.

All caterers chosen for the preferred caterer list must provide, at the time of acceptance, proof of registration with the Florida Division of Corporations (Sunbiz.org), proof of any required state licenses/certifications, and provide a Certificate of General Liability Insurance with a preferred coverage limit of $500,000 per occurrence/$1 million aggregate.

Expectations: With a mission to improve health equity in South Pinellas County, successful applicants must thrive in a setting designed to serve a diverse clientele.

Considerations: In a commitment to a more equitable community, consideration will be given to applicants who have one or more of the following attributes:

• have completed the St. Petersburg Chamber’s Greenhouse/Icehouse Entrepreneurship Program or the Tampa Bay BlackBusiness Incubator• are in proximity to the Center at 2333 34th St. South• are a minority-owned business

Application for preferred provider listThe Center for Health Equity anticipates needing a diversity of catering options for its clients – from buffet breakfasts for 30 to box lunches for 10 to plated dinners for 300. To support such needs, the Foundation is establishing a list of qualified providers who have met insurance and other technical requirements, offer delivery and pickup service (when required), and successfully complete an orientation of the Center’s catering kitchen. Both small-scale and large-scale operations are sought to qualify for the list as the Center anticipates a wide variety of opportunities for vendors in the community. Clients needing food service in the Center will be directed to pick from this list of providers to serve their needs.Note: All caterers selected for consideration for the preferred list will be required to attend an orientation of the the Center's kitchen. The questions below, however, are designed to inform which vendor(s) is selected to proceed in the process.
