The pedigree is stacked with world class Tajima sires. The sire of WKS Kizuna is Michifuku. The Dam, Taguchi 9‘s grand sire is Tanifuku Doi, who sired Kimifuku 3 and Kikutsuru Doi TF 146, Tanifuku Doi‘s sire is Yasumi Doi, sire to famous Monjiro who sired Michifuku and Haruki 11. Yasumi Doi also is the Grand sire to Fukutsuru 068. Even with this Tajima line breeding the inbreeding coefficient is only 4 %. Kizuna 1188 is currently housed at Hawkeye Breeders in Iowa. Michifuku is thought to be the best carcass bull ever to leave Japan. Even with smaller framed offspring, his progeny’s carcass characteristics are superb. Michifuku was formerly the number one marbling bull in the U.S. Wagyu Sire Summary, and consistently ranks second in ribeye area (REA) and fourth in backfat thickness (EPD). With Lot 4’s dam being sired by Haruki II, you know he has that extra punch of tremendous marbling and growth in his genetics. With Suzutani present in the cow family rest assured this is a pedigree to make a great herdsire.SCD: Will be available sale day

Dam of Lot 9

10

Lot 10’s sire, Hirashigeharu, was produced from the ideal mating of FB670 Hirashigetayasu (IMP JAP) to FB5769 – Suzuharu (CAN) – to increase size and daily gains from the sire side and the high marbling / large ribeye / balanced meat qualities of the Suzutani Cow Family on the bottom side. He was classified at Kurogen 86.0 and was officially proven in Japan before being exported – DG0.97 kg, BMS 2.4, and REA 45 cm2. His dam, “Suzuharu (CAN)” is a direct daughter of the famed “Suzutani (IMP JAP)” and sired by “Haruki 2 (IMP JAP)”. Making her a full sister to the famous Shigeshigetani.Lot 10’s production record includes two heifer calves who’s birth weights were 74 lbs. and three bull calves with birth weights of 80, 82 and 87 lbs.Sells open, ready to be bred or flushed.

Lot 9’s sire is a medium-framed bull weighing 1,650 pounds with excellent conformation, Itoshigenami TF148 is 75% Tajima and 25% Fujiyoshi. Itoshigenami is arguably one of the best Wagyu bulls when it comes to marbling and carcass traits and is sired by Shigeshigenami – a double cross of Shigekananami and therefore highly inbred in the Kumanami bloodline. As far as a production record, Lot 9 has had 5 calves. One heifer sired by a Mitch son had a birth weight of 75 lbs. The other four calves were bull calves with birth weights of 71, 69, 73 and 67 lbs. The last three bull calves are being finished and carcass data will be provided by sale day. Lot 15 hails from LMR Yojimbo 634S. With Takazakura and Michifuku on her maternal side, 0166X is a winning composite lot. Take Takazakura’s growth and marbling balancing act and add Michifuku’s unforgettable legacy as “the best carcass bull ever to leave Japan”, and it’s apparent why this lot should be top on your list. We can only guess about Yojimbo’s future as Dam Sire, but if we look no further than his initial results in the Lone Mountain Sire Performance Study it seems almost assured: average 29.64% IMF with 12 carcass images analyzed - less than 1% difference between Yojimbo and Shigeshigetani! His average USDA grade is AB50! The makings of a great Dam Sire. Lot 15 was a result of the flush to sexed Yojimbo semen that produced 17 viable embryos.AI bred to Kimitofuku on 2-03-15 SCD: VA

Hold onto your hats, folks! Here’s the herd-improving Haruki II female you’ve been looking for Lot 16 is a dream pedigree, with popular Haruki II dominating the paternal side, and Kitaguni Jr. and Yasufuku Jr. on the maternal side. These three foundation sires are an epic combination in an animal, adding up to a 46% Tajima, 20% Kedaka, 12% Itozakura powerhouse. Remember that Haruki II is that Monjiro son espoused with a fantastic growth streak, which explains the top 10% Fullblood Feedlot Index (+$ 34) of 1296Y. The maternal side of 1296Y contains the powerful marbling nick (Kitaguni x Yasufuku) we’ve followed since visiting Japan in 2007 for the 9th Zenkyo in Tottori, and that’s bringing high premiums to the LMC beef program. Kitaguni is ranked as the #1 IMF Sire in the 2014 LMR Sire Performance Study (SPS) with an average of 35.31% with 9 actual carcass results – and Yasufuku Jr is #2 (average 33.10% - 9 carcasses). In addition, Yasufuku Jr is listed as #1 Dam Sire, based on 13 images, with an average 35.04% IMF and #2 Sire for Ribeye Area. With this Kitaguni x Yasufuku dam, it is reasonable to expect wonderful daily gain and meat quality in her progeny.

Lot 17 is an offspring of LMR Akahige 8119U – who has been making waves in the Lone Mountain Wagyu beef program with outstanding actual growth numbers that are not proven out by middling EBV scores, all the while scoring surprisingly high marbling with his progeny. And with the preeminent foundation sires Michifuku and JVP Fukutsuru 068 on her maternal side adding even more marbling propensity into the proverbial mix, 1454Y has the makings of a marbling breeder for your herd. In fact, the dam of 1454Y is LMR Ms Michifuku 9231W who scores in the top 10% for IMF EBV and an unquestionably outstanding IMF ultrasound scan measuring 7.57% at 400 days. Kitaguni is ranked as the #1 IMF Sire in the 2014 LMR Sire Performance Study (SPS) with an average of 35.31% with 9 carcass imaged results. Her sister 749T is an outstanding six year old donor, having produced 42 viable embryos for us, resulting in 14 calves (in addition to her 3 calves by AI). Three of 2322Z’s brothers have been harvested in Lone Mountain’s Wagyu beef program with outstanding results in both yield and quality. Lot 19 has one of those special trifecta foundation sire pedigrees that makes a breeder’s hair stand on end. With Kitaguni Jr. on the paternal side, and Sanjirou and Takazakura on the maternal side, 2328Z has fame and fortune in her (and in the winning bidder’s) future. While marbling is nearly guaranteed – and one of 2328Z’s brothers marbled out at 33% IMF in our beef program – keep in mind that Takazakura is regarded as a marbling sire, but also passes on fantastic growth traits in addition. Kitaguni Jr. is not only #1 for IMF in the 2014 SPS (averaging 35.31% IMF with 9 carcasses imaged) but shows an average AB50 USDA Grade over 13 LMW steer carcasses. 2328Z’s dam is BR Ms Sanjirou 0630 who is an outstanding cow and a great donor. With 81 viable embryos in her last 4 flushes. 0630 brings a legacy of fertility and productivity that is nearly unrivaled in our breeding program.AI bred to LMR Yojimbo on 12-20-2014 - pasture exposed to LMR Masahiko 1250YSCD: VA

Lot 20 is a daughter of LMR Yojimbo 634S, and with that presence on the paternal side, and the famous Fukutsuru 068 and winning Yasufuku J930 embedded within that, 2364Z is a no brainer. World K’s Shigeshigetani has sired numerous LMR steers, with an average IMF% of 30.57% - and counting. Lone Mountain considers Shigeshigetani to be one of the foundation sires that are actively using in their breeding program. And with a LMR herd sire Kenichi 807T acting as the dam’s sire, expect great results. 2429Z doesn’t fall far from the tree: her dam scanned at 6.53% IMF and she herself scanned at 6.6 % IMF. The well-rounded breeding of 2429Z is showing up in full force. Her 62% Tajima is rounded by a sprinkling of many other bloodlines, including Takazakura.Sells OpenLot 27A: Bull calf born 9-27-2014 by WKS SanjirouSCD: VV

The sire of LMR Ms Hirashigetayasu 2020Z is one of the ideal descendants of the Dai 20 Hirashige/Kedaka line, the strain known for size and milk traits and would be expected to be first rate as a dam sire of Fullblood females. Hirashigetayasu ETJ001 is a sire whose reputation for outstanding growth precedes him. ETJ001 is the son of Dai 20 Hirashige, (interestingly, a product of a father-daughter mating) is called the “elite of elite” by Kenichi Ono and is considered one of the most significant bulls of the Kedaka line. ETJ001 epitomizes the Kedaka line and its hallmark large frame size and balance, as well as its propensity for producing A5 grade beef in Japan.AI bred to WKS Yasafuku Jr on 12-20-2014 - pasture exposed to WKS ShigeshigetaniSCD: VA

With 14 images analyzed, ETJ001 is ranked #3 by REA in the 2014 LMR SPS. And when measured against 3871 other FB Wagyu bulls, ETJ001 has been assigned EBVs by BREEDPLAN that show him as residing in the top 1% for: 600-Day Weights; REA and Milk – supporting data we are finding in our ongoing study at LMR. In addition, even though he is not known to be a highly marbling sire he nonetheless produced 14 carcasses averaging 23.47%: two times the USDA Prime Grade (8-12%). With Yojimbo on her maternal side, 2020Z is a well-balanced female. Rounding out the maternal side is Sanjirou’s massively marbled legacy. Yojimbo was the Sale Topper in LMR’s initial Production Sale in 2008, while Sanjirou is currently the #1 REA FB Wagyu Sire in Lone Mountain’s Sire Study with an average of 14.83 (7 carcasses).Sells OpenSCD: VV

A promising Hiro 0195X daughter, LMR Ms Hiro 2443Z has a good balance between growth and marbling performance. This is not surprising when taking a gander at her strong pedigree. Lot 30 is sired by our potent herd bull LMR Hiro 0195X. 0195X is deeply linebred to Sanjirou/Monjiro; a young, potent and powerful bull; is being used heavily at a LMR; and appears in the top 10% for Ribeye Area EBV. With 72% Tajima and 12% Kedaka genetics, Hiro 0195X has great potential to add phenomenal carcass characteristics to his offspring. On her maternal side, 2443Z is blessed with Yojimbo, the top-selling Wagyu sire at ORIgen, and his outstanding pedigree credentials: Fukutsuru 068 (#1 Marbling Sire in US Wagyu Sire Summary. Yojimbo was the $35,000 sale topper in our initial 2008 Production Sale and is now living life in Louisiana at Monarch Farms. Meanwhile, Yojimbo as a sire is averaging 29.64% IMF with 12 carcass images analyzed - less than 1% difference between Yojimbo and Shigeshigetani. We have a strong conviction that Yojimbo will be a great dam sire.

Lot 31 is sired by the Australian trait leader, Haruki 2. Along with balanced trait leader we also find World K’s Sanjirou on the maternal side. Sanjirou has the potential to become one of the most influential sires of the Tajima line, having great meat quality, large ribeye area, thick rib and high yields. In the 2006 U.S. Wagyu Sire Summary, Sanjirou ranks third highest in marbling, behind Fukutsuru 068, but ahead of his sire, Michifuku. Sanjirou is a linebred Yasumi Doi J10328 bull. Yasumi Doi J10328 sired Yasutanidoi J472 and grandsired both Fukutsuru 068 and Yasufuku 930. Sanjirou is out of the prominent Japanese cow Suzutani, who represents one of the most potent bloodlines in Japan. Sire, Hirashigetayasu J2351, was sired by Dai 20 Hirashige J287. His maternal great-grandsire is the distinguished Tajiri-line Tayasudoi. Hirashigetayasu J2351’s Kedaka lineage shows strong propensity for growth and balance with a larger frame. An official Japanese progeny test showed that at least 80 percent of his steers would gain A5 grade, the highest given to carcasses in Japan. On the dam’s side we find Sanjirou the most influential sires of the Tajima line, having great meat quality, large ribeye area, thick rib and high yields. With the Australian trait leader, Haruki 2, found in the pedigree of Lot 34 we also find Itoshigenami. who is considered to be one of the top three bulls exported from Japan. He is a medium-framed bull weighing 1,650 pounds with excellent conformation, Itoshigenami TF148 is 75% Tajima and 25% Fujiyoshi and is being used extensively in our fullblood breeding program to induce maternal characteristics while enhancing carcass quality. In fact, Itoshigenami is arguably one of the best Wagyu bulls when it comes to marbling and carcass traits. There are three key families in the Tajima line: Nakadoi, Okudoi and Kumanami. The bull which made the Kumanami line famous was Shigekananami (Itoshigenami’s grandsire) who had great influence over the line. Itoshigenami TF148 was sired by Shigeshigenami – a double cross of Shigekananami and therefore highly inbred in the Kumanami bloodline. Lot 37 is a classically bred heifer and could be the next mega-marbling mother to add to your herd. She has an 87% Tajima legacy to bring to fruition in your breeding program. Wagyu authority David Blackmore said this about Michifuku: “His sire, Monjiro (DG 0.87 kg, BMS +3.3) is an excellent sire who received an honorable prize in the Fukushima Zenkyo Competition and his calves have received excellent demand in the market for his offspring’s meat qualities. His grand sire is Tanishige (DG 0.92 kg, BMS 3.1, Yield Grade 72.7%) who was produced with the inbreeding of Tajiri descent. Tanishige’s high rating in yield grade shows an excellent performance to his abilities as being a meat producer. From his well-balanced extended pedigree, Michifuku is an all-around genetic combination of high meat quality, body development and fertility.” With Monjiro on the top and the bottom side of the pedigree, she will surely bring great carcass quality to bear. 3426A’s dam is LMR Ms Fukutsuru 36H 721T, showed up with very promising 5.59% IMF on her 400-day ultrasound scan. This lot’s dam, Dow Ranches 849, is the top maternal performance cow in the Dow ranches Fullblood division and is a full sister to the $19,500 Sara P cow who topped the Belcampo dispersion sale. The maternal base of this performance cow is the great Okutani daughter Fujiko. Also in 849’s pedigree are the great rib-eye bulls Michifuku and Itomoritaka. 849’s sire is out of one of the best growth source cows in the Crescent Harbor program (FB3311). It is not surprising that 849 has great weaning weight calves.Combining 849’s growth and maternal performance with LMR Yojimbo, who was bred for high marbling, has the potential to produce a balanced blend of carcass and maternal performance.

These embryos are from a mating that is RotationallyTM bred for six generations as Marble-Growth-Marble-Growth-Marble-Growth.9064W is the largest donor female in the Triangle B Ranch herd weighing in at 1500 lbs. She is sired by Itoshigefuji TF147. TF147 is known for siring early maturing offspring, putting a beautiful udder on his females, and not hurting marbling score. 9064W’s dam is the great TF713. TF713 is sired by Kimifuku 3, the highest marbling bull ever raised by Mr. Shogo Takeda. Her dam is Hikokura 1/10, a famous cow from Mr. Takeda’s Hikokura dam line. TBR Shigenaminami 3024Z is one of our newest AI marbling sires and is SCD AA. We have bred a lot of TF148 genetics over the years and are honored to have finally made a bull like this. He is line bred Shigekananami, the bull that made the Kumanami (Shigekane) Tajima line famous. This line is known for excellent carcass traits including fine snowflake marbling (preferred in Japan).Embryos located at Triangle B Ranch Stigler, OK. Akamiko is from the top growth cow family in Australia. Even more important, her dam in line bred to the great Di 10 Mitsumaru bull that is the premier source of carcass quality in red Wagyu. Akamiko is a very correct, beautifully refined young cow who has remained in great condition while milking above average. Rocky Mountain Wagyu would not trade her for any other red Wagyu known. The sire, Kotsukari, is a voluminous and powerful Hikari son of Akiko. This mating has great multi faceted potential for any red Wagyu breeder!Embryos located in Idaho. Eve is a full sister to the great young bull Genesis who as a 10 month old bull was Calf Champion and Reserve Grand Champion Bull in Denver January 2014. Eve’s dam is the extraordinary JVP KIKUSHIGE 5298 one of the elite growth cows in the breed. Eve’s sire Itomoritaka (Westholme 002) is the top maternal weaning weight sire outside Japan, who also excels in Rib Eye area. Look at the volume in Eve as a heifer. Shigefuku 13M is a Westholme bred bull known for both great daughters and excellent carcass progeny. 13M is sired by the original Westholme 005 bull Shigefuku. 13M’s dam is a daughter of Westholme 003 from a great maternal ET Japan cow Kitatemako. This mating was designed for breed leading maternal ability with great growth, volume and muscling as a bonus. We consider a lack of milk, not F11, to be the most prevalent genetic defect in Wagyu cattle. If cows cannot adequately feed their own calves they should not be claimed to be free of all genetic defects.Embryos located in Idaho. In Japan, a recent report shows the Kedaka strain’s influence in current Wagyu produced is over 60%. Further, the influence of Kedaka in Black Wagyu now being produced is over three times that of all Tajima strains and sub strains combined. Careful record keeping and extensive testing and analysis have led their direction and progress. Japanese breeders have made progress in functionality and performance as well as carcass improvement. Many have

heard that Kedaka progeny have good growth and improve milking ability in Wagyu. Less well known are the other qualities for which the Japanese use Kedaka genetics to improve Wagyu, such as better skeletal quality and better skin and hair quality. Recently a few US Wagyu breeders more aware of the real breeding going on in Japan, sought out, found, and began to use a very special Wagyu bull. A line bred bull that is predictable in his ability to pass onto his offspring genetics vitally needed for the long term improvement of Wagyu in the US. That bull is Shigefuku J1822 (also known as Westholme 005).Shigefuku J1822 is a unique sire among imported Wagyu bulls available to US breeders. Shigefuku is ¾ Kedaka and ¼ Tottori, and is the only bull available in the US with 100% Tottori and Kedaka genetics. Shigefuku was a large impressive bull with strong growth genetics; he weighed 1735# at 23 months. There are no registered Shigefuku offspring in the US that I have not had the opportunity to study. I have also analyzed all those I know of yet to be registered. The Shigefuku progeny are very consistent. Most are among the very most correct Wagyu I have studied. Beyond this I will even say after evaluating thousands of cattle, of all the sires I am aware of, I would not put any other beef sire ahead of Shigefuku for bone quality and bone structure. Shigefuku offspring also have excellent growth rate, calm dispositions, and show me the traits I look for as indicators of improved milking ability. In my opinion, he is not only the most important original “Westholme” bull to use but, he is more important than all other original “Westholme” bulls combined for improving Wagyu functionality and structure. Only a limited amount of semen was imported. Written by: Eldon clawsonSemen sells per unit times the number within the package.Semen located at Hawkeye Breeders Adel, IA. Bulls come and bulls go, but some definitely contribute more than others. I am continually searching for superior Wagyu genetics. When I find what I believe are useful needed sires I am pleased to help others be aware of and have access to those sires. Many are aware of a special cow Fujiko, not as many have studied or used the genetics of her offspring. I want to share with fellow breeders what I know about an outstanding son of Fujiko sired by Michifuku this bull is Shidoosha FB4464. Shidoosha was bred by Marcy Hammond and later used by subsequent owners. The best way for me to describe Shidoosha is by comparing his offspring to offspring of one of his brothers who is better known, that brother being Sanjirou an extraordinary bull I greatly value. Like Sanjirou Shidoosha progeny are balanced with good muscling where it needs to be, I find the Shidooshas to be a little larger with more volume and deeper rib. This difference makes sense to me due to the small amount of Itozakura and Kedaka genetics in his dam. In the herds that have Shidoosha progeny they are standouts due to their great volume and performance. If you like high volume easy fleshing cattle with very good performance you will benefit from using Shidoosha. Here’s a rare opportunity to aquire semen from one of the first four Wagyu to be imported in 1976. Judo originated from the Kumamoto Prefecture, where current strains were developed by crossing native cattle to Simmental, Devon and Korean Hanwoo cattle. Unlike the black strains, the Kumamoto reds are similar in frame and conformation to American beef type cattle. According to data collected on progeny of his son and daughters, Judo has demonstrated his ability to sire marbling. A double bred Judo daughter, Akai Nemui, has contributed immensely to high quality carcasses through several of her sons that were trait leaders for marbling in the WSU Wagyu Sire Summary. One of the most famous son is Judo Jr., who had the 2nd highest EPD for marbling.Semen sells per unit times the number within the package.Semen located at Elgin Breeding Service Elgin, TX. According to Taiki Otsuka, national certified Wagyu Semen salesman in Japan,“The Yasutanidoi line of tajima is considered THE hands down highest quality marbling and best tasting fat of ALL TAJIMA LINES in Japan, and is the most highly sought after luxury line for no expense spared marbling and fat quality, even more than the Nami line.” The original Yasutani Doi is also the maternal sire of the Westholm Hongen bull 003 Kitateruyasudoi, and Doi blood is also a major influence of #1 all time marbling sire Fukusuru 068 top and bottom as well. JVP Yasutanisakura 931 also has Dai 7 Itozakara as his maternal grandsire, and that may be why he is also one of the best milk sires in the breed despite significant Doi influence. Extreme marbling and milk in one package anyone? Maybe there is a reason JVP chose to breed such a disproportionally high number of their original foundation cows to “931” and treated him like a special prize of their shipment?
