The powerful southern swells that push up the vast, ancient west coast of Australia create some of the best and most isolated waves in the world.

In 1982, inspired by the sense of escapism and soul of this raw environment, two surfers, Patrick Leahy and Roger Liley created a unique, grass roots surfing company, WEST. Built by people passionate about their products and committed to creating wetsuits known for their quality and fit. Over the years WEST’S reputation for technically advanced, high quality wetsuits has become renowned throughout the surfing world. The latest range of wetsuits is the culmination of over three decades of wetsuit manufacturing using state of the art, environmentally sustainable materials including limestone based neoprene, bamboo and recycled bottle fabrics. Tried and testedin Western Australia’s most harsh surfing conditions where a quality wetsuit is crucial.

West Limestone Neoprene

West neoprene is derived from limestone. Limestone is a sedimentary rock created

over millions of years from fossilised marine organisms.

West Limestone Neoprene is created using hydro-electricity, helping to lower our

carbon foot print which makes West wetsuits more environmentally friendly than

petroleum based neoprene suits.

West began using limestone neoprene back in the 1980's as the preferred neoprene

throughout our entire range of suits. The benefits of limestone neoprene include

lower water absorption, higher thermal properties and more stretch due to the high

closed cell content and thick wall structure.

West is proud to have maintained the use of limestone neoprene fabric in our entire

wetsuit range for three decades and continues to seek alternate methods in wetsuit

West Air-O Neoprene combines three layers of 1mm neoprene which are bonded together. The middle layer is a

honeycomb construction which creates small pockets of air that are quickly heated up by the body, this adds to the thermal properties

of the neoprene as well as being lighter and more flexible than regular neoprene.

Thermal Mesh Skin works in the same way that a solar panel absorbs heat from the sun. Minimal water absorption reduces wind chill. These combined elements add greatly to

West’s wetsuits thermal properties.

Benefits: increased warmth and a lighter suit due to less water absorption.

Knee Pads

Metal-lite Glideskin

This is a unique metal coated, smooth neoprene used for collars as it creates a good seal around the neck and its

soft feel provides comfort.

Benefits: a more comfortable and better neck seal to reduce water flushing and maintain warmth.

Compared to other neoprenes, K-foam has a much higher density. West uses K-foam for all kneepads because

of its durability and hardwearing qualities.

Glideskin Neo Tape

West Glide Skin Tape (GST) has superior stretch compared with standard taping. With its air tight seal, surfing in cold

water has never been as free.

Benefits: freedom and warmth in cold water.

Fluid Seams

Fluid Seams are flexible liquid tape that is applied to the GBS seams to provide a perfect air tight seal.

Benefits: warmth and flexibility for cold to freezing water

S-Foam or Superlite Neoprene

ULTRASPAN

S-FOAMNEOPRENE

S-Foam is a closed cell neoprene that is 20% lighter than regular foam and is manufactured from limestone. It is softer and has superior stretch with a lower water absorption

rate than other neoprene.

Benefits: a lighter and more flexible wetsuit when dry and a lighter and warmer wetsuit when wet.

Stress Taping &Reinforced Dots

West Melco tape strengthens the seals and all the stress points in a wetsuit. A heat tape or dot is ironed on

to the stress points in the seams and joins at the base of the zip to give more durability to the wetsuit.

Benefits: a more durable and reliable wetsuit that will give the surfer more


ULTRASPAN

Forte Collar Closure

West’s wetsuits feature a fully adjustable neck closure system which covers the zip head to stop water entry through the collar and zip track. It also closes around the neck to provide a

complete seal no matter what neck size.

Benefits: a warmer and more comfortable wetsuit.

Batwing

The West batwing is a thin neoprene gusset that stops water seeping through the back zip track and stitching. The batwing also aids in keeping the surfer warmer by adding

insulation to the back.

Benefits: no water seeping through back zip results in a much warmer wetsuit giving the surfer a better surfing experience.


GBS Seams

Glued and Blind Stitched is commonly called GBS. The construction process begins with glueing both sides of two

panels together. West goes two steps further by triple glueing the seams and using exclusively Japanese glues which ensures superior quality.

The panels are then butted together by hand and an air powered pincher is used to ensure the glued seam is bonded together.

The key to the GBS construction is that the thread only penetrates 1/3 to 2/3 of the way into the foam.

This ensures an air tight seam.

Benefits: an air tight seam that allows no water to enter, keeping the

surfer warmer.

Flatlock Seams

West uses flatlock seams in the lower-end or warm water suits.

The neoprene is over lapped and the needle and thread is sewn completely through both layers. The upside is that it is a quick and inexpensive way to manufacture a wetsuit. The downside is that the suit is not water tight once

the thread and needle is sewn completely through the neoprene.

Benefits: a cost effective wetsuit allowing for comfortable surfing in warmer waters.

Using the warranty There are 2 ways you can use your warranty:

1. Return to your local West Wetsuit dealer. Make sure you take your proof of purchase (receipt or invoice) with you and they'll send your suit to West on your behalf.

2. Return it to WestPost it back to West, along with proof of purchase (receipt or invoice). Your wetsuit will be returned to you as soon as possible, free of charge (if covered under warranty). Please send these to: 1-3/53 Bushland Ridge, Bibra Lake WA 6163

Trading Terms

1. Pricesa) All prices will be effective from 1st July 2013 but may be subject to change without notice due to changes in costs beyond our control, such as freight, taxes, currency exchangerates and duty rates etc.b) All wholesale prices are shown exclusive of GST (however GST will be shown on all invoices)c) All recommended retail prices include GST.

Termsa) Customer terms are 30 days nett from date of invoice unless otherwise agreed in writing.b) Overdue accounts will be subject to interest of 2.5% per month from date of invoice.c) We reserve the right to determine the amount and duration of credit extended.d Delivery times are estimates only. Goods delivered in the intended month of delivery are not considered late.e) A $15.00 freight and administration charge applies to orders $300 ex GST and under, and 2.5% for orders over this amount. Freight charges will be waived on all invoices paid within 30 days. It is the responsibility of the customer to provide remittance advice, otherwise credits will not be provided.

3. Risk and Titlea) The risk in the goods supplied by the seller to the buyer shall pass to the buyer upon delivery, but the ownership in them shall not pass to the buyer until the buyer has discharged all outstanding indebtedness to the seller.b) Until payment in full of all indebtedness of the buyer to the seller is satisfied, the buyer acknowledges and agrees that:Goods supplied are held by the buyer as bailee to be sold by it as agent on behalf of the seller;

The buyer hereby irrevocably gives the seller, its agents and servants, leave and license without the necessity of giving any notice to enter on and into any premises occupied by the buyer or its directors or partners to search for or remove any goods supplied or in which the seller had ownership as fore said without any way being liable to the buyer or any other person or company claiming through the buyer. In the event of resale by the buyer, the entire proceeds of the sale are to be held in trust for the seller and shall not be mingled with other monies or paid into any overdrawn bank account and shall be in all times identifiable as the seller’s funds. This clause is intended to protect the seller in the event of insolvency of or all default in payment by the buyer.

4. DiscountsPrompt payment discounts are available as follows: 5% - C.O.D. 3% - 7 days from date of invoice. Freight charges will be waived on all invoices paid within 30 days. It is the responsibility of the customer to provide remittance advice, otherwise credits will not be provided.

5. Cancellation of OrdersCancellation or amendments to orders cannot be accepted after 7 days from ordering.
