22 “Artesanas promueven sus tejidos”/ “Craftswomen promote their textiles” / “Sawurinaka sawutapa uñast’asipxi”

El Programa de Apoyo a Artesanas CONADI 2014, tuvo como objetivo fortalecer la promoción y difusión de las artes textiles aymaras de la región de Arica y Parinacota, además de forjar un piloto de una Unidad de Mejoramiento Productivo. Este piloto potenció el desarrollo de la actividad productiva artesanal en condiciones de profesionalismo orientado hacia la homologación de conocimientos, metodología participativa y técnicas productivas entre pares afines, de artesanas presentes en el medio urbano, comunal y regional.
The support program of craftswomen CONADI 2014, had as a main objective to encourage the promotion and diffusion of the textile arts of the region of Arica and Parinacota; in addition, to forge a pilot program for an improvement production unit. This pilot program strengthened the development of the crafts productive techniques in terms of professionalism oriented to certify knowledge, participatory methodology and productive techniques between the craftswomen in an urban and regional environment.
Artesana textil con 24 años en el rubro. Lidera el Taller Warmi Ampara, “Manos de Mujer” en español, el cual busca recuperar y difundir diseños, colores y terminaciones propias de la región en fibra de alpaca. Logra prendas innovadoras, con combinaciones de indumentarias, teñidos y piezas decorativas, las que son solicitadas a nivel nacional e internacional. En el año 2011, fue certificada con el “Sello de Excelencia Artesanía Chile 2011”.
Craftswoman with 24 years of history in the business. She runs the weaving workshop “Warmi Ampara” than means in aymara language women’ hands. This weaving workshop looks for getting back and spreading designs, colors and its own endings of alpaca’s fiber. She has achieved innovative clothes with clothing combinations, dyeing and decorative pieces, which are demanded to national and international levels. In the year 2011, she was certified with “Handicrafts Excellence Seal Chile - 2011”.

Las artesanas de la agrupación Suma Sawuri, “Buenas Tejedoras”, con 15 años de existencia y siete artesanas productoras, realizan el proceso total de la fibra alpaca, desde la esquila hasta la entrega de prendas tejidas a sus clientes. En sus técnicas de tejido utilizan el telar de cuatro estacas, telar de dos pedales y tejido a palillos para producir ruanas, ponchos, chales, bufandas y variados gorros, prendas que son cotizadas en el país como en el extranjero.
The craftswomen of this association called “SUMA SAWURI” that means in Aymara language “good weavers”, have 15 years as association and it has seven productive craftswomen. They work the alpaca’s fiber from the shearing to the final product.In their crafts techniques they use the machine loon of four sticks and the machine loon of two pedals. They use the knitting made of knitting needle to produce poncho, shawls, scarves and different models of caps. All clothes are valued in our country and in other countries.
Artesana del pueblo de Tacora, comuna de General Lagos. Con ganado familiar de camélidos a 4.800 m.s.n.m., hace cuatro años se agrupó con cuatro de sus hermanas y su madre para conformar el taller familiar Kaytu Kuyruma, “Arcoiris de Hilados”. En este taller utilizan el telar de cuatro estacas, telar de cintura y crochet, con los cuales elaboran prendas de vestir para niños, ponchos, gorros, chales, entre otras piezas que comercializan a nivel regional y nacional.
This craftswoman was born in Tacora in the community of General Lagos. Since four years ago she formed a group with four of her sisters and her mother. This familiar weaving workshop called “Kaytu Kuyruma” that means in Aymara language “spinning rainbow”. In this weaving workshop, they use the machine loon of four sticks, machine loon of waist, and the crochet techniques, which they create pieces of clothing for children, ponchos, skawls, and other pieces that they create and commercialize in Chile.

Aka sawuñana pusi ch’akuña sawutawa, uka wak’antaru chinuntasita lurasipxi ukampixa p’itañasipxi uka crochet sataxa ukampi wawa isinaka lurasipxi, punchus, lluch’us, janantañanaka, ukaxa akaru uka yaqha markaru aljañataki.

Artesana oriunda de Colchane, con más de 26 años experiencia en la artesanía textil de fibra de camélidos en la región. Cuenta con su taller Pajjsy Sawuris, en español “Tejedoras de la Luna”, su producción se basa en tejidos confeccionados en telar de cuatro estacas y telar de dos, cuatro y seis lisos, produciendo chales, ruanas y prendas artesanales para huasos como son los ponchos y mantas corraleras que le son demandadas a nivel nacional e internacional.
This craftswoman was born in Colchane. She has 26 years of experience in the textile.She created her own weaving workshop called “Pajsy Sawuris”, that means in Aymara language “moon’s weavers”.The production is based on knitting made of alcapa woods in machine loons of two, four and six sticks. All clothes are valued in our country and in other countries.

Artesana productora de la comuna de General Lagos, cuenta con más de 40 años en el mundo del tejido textil. Realiza el proceso productivo total, desde la esquila a la elaboración de tejidos textiles a base de fibras de alpaca. En su taller llamado Alpach Marka, que significa “Alpaca de Nuestro Pueblo”, utiliza las técnicas del telar de dos pedales y el tejido a palillos, para confeccionar prendas tejidas, tales como: chales, ruanas, ponchos entre otros productos.
The craftswoman producer from community of General Lagos has 40 years of trading. She makes a total productive process since the shearing to the elaboration of textile knitting based on alpaca’s fibers. In her weaving workshop called “alpaca marka”, that means “alpaca of our village”. She uses the weaving loom techniques of two pedals and the knitting needle knitting in order to create clothes such as: shawls, ponchos, etc.

Artesana productora desde su niñez. Lleva más de 50 años realizando su textilería aymara, desde la esquila a la confección de tejidos en fibra de alpaca. En sus inicios, sus tejidos tuvieron un carácter utilitario personal y familiar, con posterioridad a ello vio la oportunidad de realizar prendas a través del telar de dos pedales y el tejido a palillos para ser comercializados en el mercado local. Su producción se define por ruanas, ponchos y gorros entre otros.
This producer has been craftswomen since her childhood. She has done her Aymara weavings from the shearing to the manufacturing of alpaca’s fibers since 50 years ago. At the beginning, her weavings had a personal and familiar nature, after that, she saw the opportunity to make clothes using weaving sticks and two pedals weaving loom to commercialize her products in the local market. Her production is defined by ponchos, hats and so on.

Artesanas productoras oriundas de la localidad de Visviri comuna de General Lagos. Hace cuatro años son socias de la Agrupación Damas de Mulluri, quienes laboran tejidos textiles en fibra de alpaca. Esta agrupación utiliza técnicas artesanales a base de telares de dos y cuatro pedales, tejidos a palillo y telar de cuatro estacas. Los principales productos que elaboran son: vestidos, ponchos, chales, bufandas, guantes, entre otros que comercializan a nivel local.
This craftswoman producer from Visviri of the community of General Lagos has been member of “Damas de Mulluri” (Ladies of Mulluri) since four years ago. They work in textile knitting made of alpaca’s fibers. This association uses traditional techniques based on two and four pedals weaving loom, weaving sticks and four stakes weaving loom. The main products that they elaborate are dresses, ponchos, shawls, scarves, gloves among other products that they commercialize at local level.

Artesana y cantautora aymara, nativa de la localidad de Guallatire, comuna de Putre. Hace 17 años que comercializa sus tejidos de fibra de alpaca. Ligada al tejido desde su niñez gracias a su madre, quien le enseñó las técnicas ancestrales del tejido. Realiza su producción mediante telares de dos y cuatro pedales, telar tradicional de cuatro estacas y tejido a palillos, confeccionando ruanas, ponchos, frazadas, entre otras piezas. Comercializa local y nacionalmente.
Craftswoman and singer-songwriter from “Guallatire”, Putre commune. She has commercialized her knitting of alpaca’s fiber from 17 years ago. She has been linked to the knitting from her childhood, thanks to her mother, who has taught her the ancestral techniques. She makes her production through two and four pedals machine looms, four stakes machine loom, four stakes machine loom and weaving sticks. She makes ponchos, blankets, among other products that she commercializes at local and national levels.

Joven artesana, proveniente de familia ganadera del pueblo de Ancolacane, comuna de General Lagos. Sus experiencias de niñez en la comuna y su espíritu de emprendimiento, le permitieron crear hace tres años un taller llamado “Artesanía del Altiplano” y donde, mediante telares de dos pedales y tejidos a palillos, produce una variedad de prendas tejidas en fibra 100% de alpaca, como lo son: bufandas, chales y gorros, prendas que comercializa a nivel regional.
She is a young craftswoman descended from a cattle rancher family from “Ancolacane” town, in General Lagos commune. Her enterprising spirit motivates her to create a weaving workshop called “Artesania del altiplano” that means “Altiplano’s crafts” in just three years. She has developed through two pedals weaving looms and weaving sticks 100% weavings clothes of alpaca´s fibers such as scarves, shawls and hats which are commercializes at regional level.

PHUJUNIAGRUPACIÓN
Agrupación integrada por siete familiares oriundos de Guallatire, comuna de Putre. Más de 15 años avalan su experiencia y producción con la fibra de alpaca. Las técnicas utilizadas son a base del telar de dos pedales, telar tradicional de cuatro estacas y a palillos, producción que comercializan en la región y a nivel nacional. Su principal diseño, corresponde al cuadrillé, el cual es plasmado en ruanas, ponchos, chales, bufandas y prendas de vestir para infantes.
This Association consists of seven family members from “Guallatire” town, in Putre commune.This association has 15 years of experience in the production of alpaca’s fiber. The techniques used are two pedals machine loom, four stakes machine loom and weaving sticks. Its production is commercialized in local and regional levels. Their main design is gingham which is expressed in ponchos, shawls, scarves and clothes for children.

Desde su niñez se encuentra ligada al proceso de la esquila, el hilado y la confección de prendas tejidas en fibra de alpaca, su oficio de tradición ancestral. La técnica principal con que desarrolla sus piezas artesanales es el tejido en telar de dos pedales, mediante el cual produce vestidos, chalecos, ponchos, chales y guantes, productos que principalmente comercializa a nivel local.
She is a craftswoman and a cattle rancher from “Challacerca” town, in General Lagos commune.Since her childhood she has attached to the process of shearing, spinning and manufacturing of alpaca fibers. The main technique that she has developed are craft pieces made of two pedals weaving loom, in which, she produces dresses, waistcoats, ponchos, shawls and gloves that she commercializes at local level.

Desarrolla el proceso desde la esquila de animales a la entrega de prendas a clientes regionales y nacionales. Usa técnicas de tejidos en telar de dos y cuatro pedales, a palillo y teñidos naturales, técnicas que heredó por tradición familiar. Su oferta está constituida, entre otros productos, por guantes, chalecos, gorros, chullos.

She has developed the process since the shearing to the delivery of clothes at regional and national customers. She uses two and four pedals weaving loom, weaving sticks and natural dyes; all techniques inherited from her family tradition. Her supply consists in gloves, vests, hats, chullos, among other products.

Artesana del poblado de Guacollo, comuna de General Lagos. Cuenta con 10 años de experiencia en el manejo de la fibra de alpaca, materia prima que trabaja en su taller llamado Suma Ampara, “Buena Mano” en español. En la confección de tejidos textiles utiliza las técnicas del telar de dos y cuatro pedales y de palillos, con los que desarrolla prendas como guantes, gorros, chales y ruanas. Ésta producción la comercializa de preferencia en ferias regionales.

Artesana nativa del pueblo de Guallatire, comuna de Putre, con más de 20 años en su oficio. El arte del tejido textil en fibra de alpaca lo aprendió de sus padres, quienes la instruyeron en la utilización del telar de dos y cuatro pedales, telar de cuatro estacas y confección de tejido a palillo. Elabora y produce prendas como ponchos, ruanas, chales, bufandas, guantes, medias, entre otros productos que comercializa en ferias a nivel regional.
