Dear pigeon friends, In this catalogue I like to present the group of young birds 2013 that will be offered on PIPA from December 16th until December 29th 2013. A round of youngsters from all my top breeders, what has become a tradition and sort of an annual repeating validation of the good relationship between PIPA and myself. My contact with Nikolaas and Thomas Gyselbrecht from PIPA is more than just a business-relationship. I’ve always tried to be the best in our great pigeon sport; PIPA wants to be leading in the market of selling pigeons. On many occasions we try to strengthen each other, for instance by introducing DNA-certification – as I want to be sure at all times customers must know they can rely on me; an aspect very important to both PIPA as myself. When the sport is concerned; 2013 was a season to not soon forget. Team Koopman has been putting a lot of effort to show anno 2013 that we were still capable of performing in the way my father and I did about 25 years ago. Pigeon sport changed, but we were convinced ‘the Koopman pigeon’ is still capable to dominate. It makes me very happy to conclude we succeeded, winning a/o 2x 1. NPO and grabbing 17 NPO top 10 positions from just 5 races one day races! We believe our breeding loft forms the base for the success in racing. Only the best is good enough for breeding and that philosophy proves to be just for over 25 years in Ermerveen. From all my best breeders I offer a round of youngsters on PIPA and I believe that offers fanciers worldwide a unique change to acquire top genes material. Many succeeded before you, maybe you will be the next to experience the value of our stock. With kind regards, Gerard Koopman PIPA presents C. & G. Dear pigeon friends,
In this catalogue I like to present the group of young birds 2013 that will be offered on PIPA from December 16th until December 29th 2013.

PIPA presents C. & G. KoopmanModern nr. 1 pigeon family in the world
Round of young birds 2013Start auction: December 16th 2013 • End auction: December 29th 2013 • www.pipa.be
DNA-certainty in pigeon breeding at C. & G. Koopman1998: When ‘Kleine Dirk’ introduced an entire new level of pigeon racing to Gerard Koopman, more and more requests for children of him and his family came in. Gerard wouldn’t sell all of him and keep some youngsters for himself to secure the future, he had to adjust the prices.
2000: To secure buyers to get youngsters from the parents that were printed on the pedigree, Gerard Koopman created separate breeding boxes. In these every pair is really housed separately. A mutual breeding loft breaks all guarantees for breeding pairs and their youngsters; that means wrong pedigrees are not always intended, but they could occur.
2009: Gerard decided to introduce unique pedigrees that include an extra control mean for authenticity for the buyer of the pigeon and also gives a certain guarantee when this pigeon is sold to a third party … every pedigree is supplied with a unique number that is only visible for the one who owns the pedigree/pigeon and in the database in Ermerveen.
2009: Gerard met the firm Gendika who extensively informed about the different possibilities for DNA testing and Team Koopman decided to use the method of gender-determination.
2012: Gerard Koopman with Nikolaas and Thomas Gyselbrecht from PIPA discussed the subject ‘determination of relationship by DNA’. Gerard Koopman decided to get a DNA-passport for all our breeders. To create full transparency and to exclude every doubt about the ‘genuineness’ of Koopman-pigeons.
Winning ‘The Koopman way’It became a rage in pigeon racing; doing it ‘the Koopman way’ … Many tried to copy what Gerard Koopman started in the early Nineties; dominating against massive birdages on provincial and National races - preferably starting with the 1st position. More than twenty years later in the seasons 2011-2012-2013, the master himself again demonstrates how to win ‘The Koopman way’.

DNA-determination:serious business Team Koopman considers DNA-termination for their pigeons as very important. That they mean serious business, is underlined by the fact the total DNA-procedure is under supervision of notary mr. Grievink. He is the one who receives the feathers from the pigeons and their parents, puts them in bags he seals afterwards and personally takes these bags to Gendika, the laboratory that tests the DNA. The official document on these page states this procedure.
