Our Motto Our Motto:"Stick to doing the things you do best“For many years - and true to its motto - INFIELD has resisted the temptation of providing anyfurther forms of PPE other than eyewear and hearing protection.
Our specialization makes us one of the most reliable and competent partners when it comesto safety and eye care.Especially in the provision of prescription safety eyewear to those inthe workforce that require corrective lenses,INFIELD has been a market leader for manyyears.
Our large team of opticians and professional staff guarantee our continuing success.Whether over the phone or on site, our qualified colleagues are happy to help in a swift andcompetent manner.
In consultation with the relevant authorizing officer within the prospective company,we willseek to optimize the way in which your workforce acquires its prescription eyewear.
There are two ways in which to obtain prescription safety eyewear:• An INFIELD representative calls on site to provide a comprehensive fitting service• An optician in your area is appointed to provide service provision either on- or off- site
Both methods have proven to be successful in the last two decades.Which one to adopt asbest working practice depends very much on the employee requirements and the Companyrequirements.
Routes to acquisition
All frames and lenses supplied by INFIELD are tested and certified to EN 166.Both lenses andframe carry the required certification mark, indicating the level of permissible mechanicalstresses or protection afforded by each product.Lenses conform to Class 1 optical quality.
The selection of the appropriate lens and frame combination depends on certain criteria, such as the conditions in the workplace, the potential & actual hazards to be protectedagainst, the facial anatomy of the wearer, not to mention the prescription required.
We manufacture our own optical lenses in-house;from raw,semi-finished blanks to the anti-
reflective coated finished lenses, all processes occur within our 21st century manufacturingsuite. We make sure that our customers always benefit from the latest developments in lenstechnology,as only late generation lenses are used in our products.
Spectacle frames and lenses
The question of whether a plastic or a metal frame offers the best protection in a hazardousenvironment cannot be answered in a generalized way.Our range of frames provides thesame fundamental protection of the orbital cavity (eye and socket) – whether plastic ormetal is chosen. An extensive selection of materials, shapes, colours and sizes is available.Ourqualified representatives will be happy to assist in your selection.
Age related farsightedness•Technical term:Presbyopia•Cause: From childhood onwards the elasticity of the lens decreases continually. This
causes the decline of the ability to focus on near and distant objects(accommodation) throughout life.
•Effect: Near objects appear out of focus. Most people need reading glasses from theage of 40 to 45
•Solution:Correction using a converging lens (+dioptre)
Toric curvature of the cornea•Technical term:Astigmatism•Cause: The cornea is not spherical, the eye has different focal points in different planes•Effect: Dots can appear as lines.Near and distant objects appear out of focus•Solution: Correction using a toric lens

Squinting•Technical term:Strabismus•Cause: Lack of coordination of the extraocular muscles. The gaze of both eyes cannot get to the same point in space.•Effect: Double vision•Solution: Correction using prism lenses

Normal Eye•Technical term:Emmetropia•The object reflects the incidental light•The reflected light enters the lens of the eye•The lens converges the light to a focal point on the retina as an inverted image•The focal point of the eye coincides with the area of clearest perception (macula)•The image appears inverted on the retina and is passed along the optic nerve to the brain•In the brain this image is 'rotated' and all details are perceived upright and in focus

Shortsightedness•Technical term:Myopia•Cause: The eyeball is too long or the refractive power of the lens is too low The focal point is in front of the retina and the area of clearest vision (macula)•Effect: Distant objects appear out of focus•Solution:Correction using a diverging lens (- dioptre)

Farsightedness•Technical term:Hypermetropia•Cause: The eyeball is too short or the refractive power of the lens is too high The focal point is behind the retina and the area of clearest vision (macula)•Effect: Near objects appear out of focus•Solution:Correction using a converging lens (+dioptre)
Blurred image of the foregroundVisual pathway and presbyopia
There are three major lens types:• Single vision lenses For the correction of myopia and hypermetropia
• Bifocal lenses For the simultaneous correction of myopia and prespyopia.Disadvantage: The vision at distances between 40cm and 100cm is out of focus.
• Varifocal lenses For the simultaneous correction of myopia and prespyopia. In contrast to bifocal lenses,
there is a smooth gradient between the areas of near and distant vision.
In the majority of cases, the appropriate lens type for protective glasses is the same as for theclient's personal glasses. The same is true for the lens prescription:it should be the same for bothprotective and personal glasses.

Useful information about safety lenses
The thickness of lenses increases with their strength, around the edges for diverging lenses andin the centre for converging lenses. For lenses of +/- 3.75 dioptres or more it is recommendedto use materials with a higher refractive index. These materials have higher refractive capacitydue to a higher optical density than standard materials.Hence the maximum thickness of thefinished lens around the edges or in the centre is much reduced.Apart from the enhancedaesthetics, the reduced weight of the glasses (by up to 30%) is a great advantage. The higher therefractive index, the thinner the lenses.

Tradition combined with new free form technology The new INFORlenses by Infield are the result of a combination of traditional manufacturing andstate-of-the-art production technology, the free form.
ManufacturingFor traditionally manufactured eyeglasses,semi-finished goods (so-called blanks) in graduatedexternal contours are used - from completely flat (strong minus lenses) all the way to severelyconvex (strong plus lenses). In traditional manufacturing, an even standard inner side curveis manufactured on the backside - the inner side of the eyeglasses – to achieve the desiredstrength of the eyeglass. Thanks to the new free form,we are now replacing the standard rearsurface that is computed individually depending on the strength of the lens and the exteriorcurve chosen. This takes place with the help of our company group's own, patent pending eye-point ray tracing program.
Eye-point ray tracingWith the help of the eye-point ray tracing program, images of an eyeglass from the eye's point of vieware computed at close to 3000 spots.Imaging
errors in the eyeglass caused by diagonallyhitting rays of light are determined.
The results have a direct impact onthe manufacturing and effect anoptimisation of the imaging properties.

The anti-fog coating of the OPTIFOG eyeglasses in combination with the OPTIFOG Activatorguarantees seeing clearly without fogged up eyeglasses – up to one week after each activation. In addition,OPTIFOG lenses are dust-repellent,scratch-resistant and easy to clean.
Infield embarks on a new path with the innovative combination of OPTIFOG lenses andOPTIFOG Activator:Wearers of glasses receive a highly effective and durable anti-fog coa-ting without image distortion or loss of contrast – a true innovation. To date,it seemedimpossible to develop an effective anti-fog solution for coated lenses.
Every wearer of glasses is familiar with the problems caused by light reflexes due to unfavourableLighting or sunlight,as well as with fogged lenses in the case of rapid temperature changes,e.g.when switching between cold and heated work areas.Until now, wearers of plastic lenses had todecide whether to get an anti-reflective or and anti-fog coating! With the new OPTIFOG lenses,INFIELD is now offering the perfect solution. With their special surface, they effectively reducelight reflection and additionally preventing the annoying fogging of the lens.
A physical vapour deposition plant produces a high vacuum of 2.0x10-3 Pascal. Then up to 8different vapourised materials, mostly metal oxides and silicon dioxide, are deposited in thinlayers on both lens surfaces. The layer thickness is in the nanometer range and has a toleranceof only 1%.

Earpieces with metal core The heavier a pair of spectacles, the more important it is to achieve optimum anato-mic adjustability for a perfect fit.Safety spectacles with lenses made from toughenedglass or prescription lenses are considerably heavier than other models. Earpieceswith a metal core can be adjusted perfectly to ensure a non-slip and pressure-freefit.
Softflex The Softflex loop absorbs the impact of the side arms and relieves pressure pointsbehind the ear.The skin-friendly material and anatomic adjustability also provide anon-slip fit of the frame.
The anatomy of people is highly individual.INFIELD prescription safety glasses allow forthis individuality with multiple adjustmentsavailable to their frames. Every INFIELD framecan be adjusted to the required shape to avoid
uncomfortable pressure points behind the ears.
To order prescription frames we supply a standardised order form for your convenience. In addi-tion to general information we require the following details from you:• Lens type
• Lens type and coating• Frame type with colour and size• Your choice of case• Lens prescription*• Pupil distance**• Segment height/pupillary height***

A mirror reflects up to 96%of visible light which is the reason we can see an image of ourselvesin it. Even though lenses are transparent, they still reflect up to 8% of incoming light at boththe outer and the inner surfaces. This results in irritating reflections which can lead to eye strain.Anti-reflective coatings can increase the light permeability of the lens to up to 99%,eliminatingirritations to the eyes.
Physical background of anti-reflective coatings: The concept to reduce reflection on lens surfaces is based on interference of light waves.Anincoming wave is cancelled if it is reflected from a surface with the exact opposite in amplitude.
This is always the case,if the coating has a smaller refractive index than the lens material.
Side arms The side arms can be adjusted in length by pulling the earpieces from the basesetting to achieve optimal comfort for the user.
