BrushlessBlowers/PumPs

A significant segment of the Domel product range consists of brushless radial turbo blowers with radial (peripheral) or tan-gential outlet of the working medium. They are characterised by: compact construction, high operational efficiency, precise control, optimal air flow pattern, easy connection via standard connectors, and the choice of direct current or alternating cur-rent power supply. The most common use of brushless blower is in industrial ma-chine applications. In particular these are fume/smoke extraction devices, printing and paper industry applications, handling and sorting devices, pneumatic transport, wrapping and packaging systems, ventilation and cooling devices, dryers of granulate and plastic materials, hand-dryers, industrial vacuum cleaners and fuel cells. Medicine is a further important field of application of brushless blowers. They are used in extracting smoke and par-ticles during laser operations, in washer-disinfectors, in extractor devices in dental laboratories, in dental surgery, and in air beds for low air loss therapy and wound care.

High speed brushless motors are also used in automotive indus-try. In particular, they are used in permanent drives requiring long service life. These kinds of motors are also suitable for drives requiring high power and torque surges – as actuators and also to be used in various pumps for liquids.

Domel manufactures a variety of brushless blowers in one-, two- or three-stage configuration, tangential or radial outlet of the working air. Main blower’s functions are supervised by digi-tal signals with high accuracy and quick response. Each blower set is combined with brushless motor, integrated or separated controller and fan system. Domel also offers tailor-made adjust-ments, which can cover a broad range of applications in vacuum and pressure devices. To ensure long service life, all the brush-less blowers are equipped with thermal protection, soft start, over current protection, under/over voltage protection and speed control. An input signal 0-10 V DC or PWM is used to set the speed. Upon a customer request a speed output information or fault output signal is available. According to customer wishes

and requirements, each blower is specifically developed and adapted to the intended application. Efficiency and technical performance of the particular application are further improved through adjustment of blower characteristics, such as air-flow rate or pressure difference. The list of brushless blower ad-vantages also includes a high degree of environment friendly degradability.

reCommeNDeD AssemBlY IDeA For Blowers

Assembly instructions:1. Use in environmental temperatures from 0-50°C (storage -40 to 85°C) in places with no corrosive gases or

fluids with acid or alkali properties.2. The motor and control unit are not designed for operation in the working airflow.3. It is recommended to use filter on working and cooling air of the blower. Input and output air should not be

mixed.4. Set up the filter at the inlet orifice. Filter prevents any hard materials from contacting and damaging the fan.5. Disassembly, repair or modification of the blower can result in serious injury.6. To prevent damage of controller, always use filter for cooling air and supply fresh air (not more than 50°C) to

controller part.7. RFI filter with varistor (MOV) is advised to be used to protect controller of the blower from being damaged by

high voltage spikes. Domel is providing such a filter or alternatively you can use filters from other manufacturer.

These blowers have small diameter and are appropriate for industrial/commercial floor care, where size of the blower is important. Blower’s main advantage is very high performance/size ratio. Blower is sup-plied with separate controller. Main technical features are blocked ro-tor protection, thermal protection, soft start, over current protection, under/over voltage protection and speed control. To start and/or control speed of the blower appropriate controller is needed. Please contact us for controller data (Part Nr.).

Special sealing system used on floor care was designed to protect a bearing against an influence of polluted air and moisture (497.3.267). For applications in floor care we have developed a water proofed seal-ing between blower and motor parts. Blowers could be also antistatic and anticorrosion protected and are available in one-, two- or three-stage configuration.Intelligent drive is adapted to regenerate air supply of fuel cells. In ad-dition to that also all main technical features are the same like in other blowers (blocked rotor protection, thermal protection, soft start, etc.).

Possible applications:- Fume extraction units (welding, soldering, etc.)- Various application with needs for high air flow.

Blowers from this series are specially adapted for appliances/ma-chines where high air flow is needed. Impeller of the blower is slightly higher and is designed with great knowledge to achieve the highest air flow. These blowers have great size/air flow ratio and are one of the best in the market. All the blowers from this series have 450 or 1100W and have tangential air discharge. Standard voltage supply for these blowers is 120 or 230V, up on request we also have blowers from this series in universal voltage supply and DC voltage supply.

497.3.285 series blower (brushless vacuum motor) is DOMEL’s brand new design. It reaches efficiency up to 45%, which is the highest ef-ficiency in our product range. Speed of the blower goes up to 45.000 RPM and blower reaches maximum air power of 550W. Such a brush-less solution is very suitable for professional central vacuum cleaners and other various applications where good size/performance ratio is essential. This brushless blower has an external controller with several features, such as speed output, 0 - 10 VDC regulation, etc.

These blowers could be used in various appliances, particularly:- air beds,- smaller fume extractors,- washer-disinfectors,- other various industrial applications.

These are one of the most compact brushless blowers in our product range. These blower series have a 3 phase commutation, which ena-bles user/customer to really precisely control the speed of the blower. We produce such blowers up to 450W. Solutions with universal volt-age supply (120 and 230V) are in our standard production range. Brushless blower from these series have 183mm diameter and are the most powerful in our product range. They are reaching power up to 1.8 kW and there are two options with 63.5mm (2.5”) and 50mm (2” outlet) available. These blowers are designed for applica-tions where relatively high pressure and high flow are needed. These blowers are available in 1.600W and 1800W version. We also have solutions with special sealing which protects bearing avalible. Such solutions are intended for use of blowers in pressure aplications. Spe-cial sealing solution is available up on request.Very important feature of these blowers is also 3-phase supply (400 VAC). Blowers of 792 series were developed to upgrade our existing 497 product range. These blowers are directly interchangeable with our 497 blowers. Their special feature is 3-phase commutation. They are appropriate for customers with a demand for more precise regulation. An important additional advantage for these types of the blowers is also lower noise. These blowers are available in 230V and 120V.

This is our worldwide (GLOBAL) brushless solution, which could be used at 120 V (+/- 10%) and at 230V (+/-10%) supply voltages re-spectively. These types of the blowers are physically the same as our 497 series and could achieve up to 750 Watt nominal power @ 120V and 1.000W @ 230 V supply voltage. They were designed for the customers who are covering global markets and they would need to purchase only 1 part number for USA and Europe market. Upon special request we can prepare such blower for supply voltage from 90 - 257 V. All the other features of this blower remain the same as in our standard 497 series.
