Start the day with a 45-minute Semi-submersible submarine tour aboard The Nautilus and explore Catalina’s marine life. (Operates daily at 10:45am, 11:45am, 12:45pm, 2:15pm, 3:15pm and added tour times of 4:15pm and 5:15pm on weekends.) Relax on the beach after lunch, or rent a pedal boat from Joe’s Rent A Boat on the Green Pleasure Pier. Kids can take out the kayaks while the parents enjoy some beach time. (Open every day from 7am.) When beach time is done, check into your hotel room at the Holiday Inn Resort Catalina Island. Evening After the kids have cleaned up, go to dinner at Antonio’s Pizzeria & Cabaret where you’ll find a casual, fun family atmosphere right on the waterfront. (Open for lunch & dinner.) The scavenger hunt is easy to pay for and download on your phone. The adventure will begin in the center of town and takes you among the Island’s famous landmarks while also giving you a taste of its lesser- known treasures. (Allow approximately 2 – 3 hours and a distance of 1.9 miles depending on which of the five scavenger hunts you choose.) As your vacation winds down, make sure you grab a bite at Coney Island West before hopping back on the boat. Coney Island West has quick and easy food to go, or you can enjoy their charbroiled chicken, burgers, hot dogs, shakes, beer and wine right there on their patio. (Open every day from 9am – 6pm. Cash only.) Did you arrive early to the Island ? Ask a front desk agent at the Holiday Inn Resort where you can store your belongings if you arrive before the 4pm check-in or past 11am check-out time. Looking for a picnic area?
