WINTER 2020 CATALAN/SPANISH 405 Advanced Catalan Language, Culture, and Society Susanna Coll Tues/Thurs 10-11:30 am #31352 This course is a continuation of Catalan 291. The principal aim is to continue expanding the history, politics, society and culture of the Catalan world to get a deeper understanding of some major events of what constitutes the Catalan culture, politics, arts and society. Throughout the semester, we will get in contact and analyze a wide range of cultural manifestations (music, architecture, cinema, literature and art). In addition to delve deeper into many different topics, students will be able to continue their language acquirement beyond Catalan 291. This course is a continuation of Catalan 291. The principal aim is to continue expanding the history, politics, society and culture of the Catalan world to get a deeper understanding of some major events of what constitutes the Catalan culture, politics, arts and society. Throughout the semester, we will get in contact and analyze a wide range of cultural manifestations (music, architecture, cinema, literature and art).
