SCHOOL NEWS
Congratulations to Jasper Caley who was awarded the year 6-7 Art prize from the Mallee
Fowl Preservation Group on Sunday in Ongerup. Jo McCubbing entered some artwork from
the Kondinin Primary School for the group’s 21st birthday competition following a
presentation from one of the representatives from the group and Jasper’s was chosen as the
winner. Some of the other pieces from our school were also given Highly Commended
accolades.
KONDININ BOWLING CLUB
Congratulations to the Bowling Club who catered for the Caravan Club of WA last Friday
night. Many compliments were received by the kitchen staff. Thanks to the boys for
tending the BBQ as the steak was beautifully cooked.
Many thanks to the Club President, Jim West, who took the visitors out on a bus tour on Saturday
morning which included a visit to Gary, Janet & Beau Repacholi’s farm where Mick Pratzky
exhibited great skill in shearing a ram for them and Janet provided morning tea. Thank you so much
to Gary, Janet & Beau for making yourselves and your ram available for the visit. The visitors
enjoyed themselves immensely and then returned to the Country Club on Saturday afternoon to
watch the AFL Grand Final on the big screen. There was a great turnout of local families as well to
enjoy the big match which, unfortunately, didn’t finish with the result many Fremantle Dockers fans
were hoping for.
Many thanks to Rob White for making the big screen available for the visitors to enjoy the game and
for shrouding the club in black plastic to block out the light. After helping Whitey take the screen
down along with all the associated paraphernalia, we realized the effort Rob had made in setting the
whole thing up. Thank you so much Whitey for your help. It was thoroughly enjoyed and we
appreciate your efforts.
Bowlers are reminded that the season starts this weekend with opening day on
Sunday 6th October. Scroungers have been going for a few weeks already and everyone is
encouraged to join the crowd on Friday nights for a roll. The green looks marvellous as does the
new fencing.
See you on the green!!
