Acustominterfaceallowsinformationtobeaddedtorobotprogrammingfromtwo-dimensionaldesignsinarecipe-style setup.Theprogramsavesalldimensions,requiringtheoperatortoenteronlythechangeddimensionswhenasubsequentcrossmemberhasaslightvariationinsize.Thecustominterfacealsoallowstheoperatortovarytheprogramfordifferentsizeandshapeframes,adaptingto high-mixandlow-volumebatches.
PROJECT RESULTS Afterinstallingtheequipment,apartrunoffwascompletedtoverifyeffectiveoperation.YaskawaMotomanprovidedonandoff-sitetraining,andcontinualtechnicalsupporttoensuresuccess.
Now,asingleoperatorloadsandunloadsthepre-tackedcrossframesforfinalwelding inthetwo-stationrobotcell.Thissystemallowedthemanufacturertoreducecycletimesforitssteelcrossframesto20minutes perpart,asignificantreductionfromthetime-andlabor-intensivemanualprocess.
Withshortercycletimesrequiringlessmanpowertocomplete,themanufacturerwasabletoreduceitscostsperpartandgainacompetitiveedge.
