Case Study: Not All DI Columns Are Equal www.chemalliance.us 864.201.5418 [email protected] A customer was interested in saving money on their DI water usage and contacted ChemAlliance. ChemAlliance visited their site and quoted replacing the competitor’s columns with ProChem columns. The per column price (with shipping) was equivalent. The big difference was that ProChem required no contract like the competitor did (contracts can include a service technician to swap columns monthly but most customers consider this an unnecessary luxury if ithey can save $ to not have this service). If the customer was dissatisfied they could send the columns back no questions asked. The customer decided to go with ProChem. The DI system was set up (See Photo below) so it would produce 20 30 gpm, of rinse water for their finishing line

The customer collected data on their DI water usage to compare the ProChem columns to the competitor’s and wrote us the following email:

From: Customer Jan 9, 2XXX To Bruce Bruce, I was finally able to determine my usage on my DI system. Before ProChem we consumed 33 canisters over 12 months. We used 303,840 gallons during that time. That puts s at 9,207 gallons per canister Using ProChem columns I used 3 columns and produced 33,000 gallons of DI over a 3 month period.

This demonstrated an average output from the ProChem columns of 11000 gallons per column. The competitor’s columns produced an average of 9207 gallons per column. Prochem columns outperformed the competitor’s columns by approximately 18%.

The customer was pleased with the cost savings. Their cost for DI water went from about $0.033/gallon to about $0.027/gallon. This company has now been a customer for over a year, even without a contract. They have also discovered ways to decrease their shipping cost and save even more money.
