Many employees previously did not find the time to read news during a busy day, and news were only available to employees when they were logged in to COWI's network. COWI wanted a solution, that could give their employees access to news and information about their IT helpdesk, directly on their mobile phones - anytime, anywhere. The solution should be imple- mented in a way, that would not compromise the safety of COWI's internal network and firewalls. The solution Based on Lectors standard solution - Intranet App - Lector and COWI developed a solution, that provides COWI employees access to news and IT helpdesk directly from their mobile phone. Using this App COWI employees always have access to view: . News from the Intranet that is relevant to the individual user . Opening hours for the helpdesk with contact options directly from the app . Status on users' own open cases in the helpdesk . FAQ from IT The solution is cloud-based and is hosted in Windows Azure, which is independent of COWI's internal IT infrastructure. Result COWI now have a solution, that gives their users full flexibility in terms of beeing up-to-date with current company news. The users can access information at the times, that fit best with a busy schedule. The solution's flexible architecture enables it to be expanded with additional functionality, and this process is ongoing. COWI’s users continually want more and more mobile options.
