But it is difficult to judge the malfunctions for the DC compressor. Therefore, modified the service manuals for detailed information on a check method. [ Check method for DC compressors] In the case of the condition that DC compressor is not connected to PCB board of the outdoor unit and start DC compressor, it is difficult to judge the malfunction for the compressor, using the check tool. It is because that the output on PCB board of the outdoor unit is generated for a few seconds. Power transistor checking function *1 is provided on the PCB board of the outdoor unit that is installed DC compressor. When DC compressor is not connected to PCB board, it is easy to check the output from the PCB board. In service maintenance, use this function and check the malfunction for the compressor. *1:Power transistor checking function This function is that the output from PCB board of the outdoor unit is generated for a certain time. The narrowing of the L5 to H8, malfunction factor ( PC boards or compressor) becomes easy by using this function. [Setting method and notes for power transistor checking function] <Setting method>Power transistor checking method is set according to the following steps. Pattern Setting method Operation Outdoor unit PC board has the forced operation switch.
Push and hold the forced operation switch for 5 seconds.
The output is energized immediately and after a few mins, it is de-energized.
Outdoor unit PC board has no forced operation switch.
Using the remote controller, set Fan mode And conduct the test operation.
The output begins three minutes later after having set it. After a few mins, it is de-energized.
The setting is available in the first re-booting on the controller. When another procedure is performed at the power-up and set this procedure, this function is not available. (Be sure that this power transistor checking function is not available at this case.) <Note> ・ After remove the lead wires from the compressor terminal*2, perform this
setting method. (Be careful short-circuit.) When the lead wires are connected to the compressor and start the compressor using the power transistor checking method, this procedure can damage the compressor.
When check the malfunction for the compressor using inverter checker, shade the light at bright outdoor and perform LED status confirmation of the checkers because of the low output from a board(LED brightness is low). ◇ When all LEDs are lit uniformly : Compressor malfunction ◇ When some of LEDs are not lit (LEDs are not lit or go off, etc.)
: PC boards malfunction *2 Be sure to re-crimp the FASTON terminal for resetting compressor.

Method of Malfunction Detection
A compressor lock is detected by checking the compressor running condition through the position detection circuit.
Malfunction Decision Conditions
The position detection circuit detects a compressor frequency of below 10 Hz for 20 seconds or a frequency of above 160 Hz.40 seconds after the compressor has started, the position detection circuit detects a compressor frequency of above 180 Hz.The system will be shut down if the error occurs 16 times.Clearing condition: Continuous run for about 5 minutes (normal)

Turn off the power. Disconnect the harnesses U, V and W.
