It contains prohibitions against the development, testing, production, stockpiling, transfer, use and threat of use of nuclear weapons". According to a mandate adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in December 2016, negotiations on the treaty began in the United Nations in March 2017 and continued from 15 th June to 7 th July 2017. In the vote on the treaty text, 122 were in favour. One voted against Netherland, one abstained from Singapore, and 69 did not participate. None of the nuclear weapon states, and NATO members, except the Netherlands participated. Our main aim is to open the windows for the students to the outside world and provide an environment to think creatively. We also try to equip students to respond to life’s challenges in this competitive world with confidence and a centered mind. Mental and emotional balance of a high degree has to be developed from a very young age. As every year goes by there is a greater zeal within us to keep up with the challenges in imparting quality education to the children who are under our care. Let us enjoy reading this newsletter, brought out by the students of Grade X, XI and XII, which will take us all through the steps of beauty and inquisitiveness. Sreelakshmi S. Nair The new academic year has already begun. I hope you have started the year with renewed vigour with the desire to outshine the past achievements. A sea of change has been introduced by CBSE into the assessment pattern. Change causes anxiety and discomfort. The reason for this is because we want to maintain our statusquo, live in our comfort zone. But remember “Change is the rule of life”. It is the norm and not the exception. With good change management, planning and methodology, you students can achieve your goals. So do not give excuses for under performance. Believe in yourself. Believe that you are responsible for changing your attitude and behavior. Do not give in to the temptation of procrastination.
