Daybreak CARL STROMMEN (ASCAP) Grade 3 NOTES TO THE CONDUCTOR The quiet chorale-like opening of Daybreak builds slowly—dynamically and texturally—to a lighter, playful section that welcome those few moments before dawn. With the first rays breaking the horizon, the music becomes broader, almost regal in scope and texture—the day is beginning. Now as our day moves forward and towards evening, the texture and dynamic change dramatically to a driving, muscular, and powerfully dissonant conclusion. Best wishes for a musical performance. NOTES TO THE CONDUCTOR
The quiet chorale-like opening of Daybreak builds slowly—dynamically and texturally—to a lighter, playful section that welcome those few moments before dawn. With the first rays breaking the horizon, the music becomes broader, almost regal in scope and texture—the day is beginning. Now as our day moves forward and towards evening, the texture and dynamic change dramatically to a driving, muscular, and powerfully dissonant conclusion.
