Slide 2 Carl Jones Candidate number: 1085 Center number: 16131 Slide 3 I thought I could use this bass for the start of my music piece as an intro. What I thought that would go with the bass is a synth pad. This is the bass & pad together. What I also done is changed the last bass sound and changed the chord which will be the start of my build up. 2.1 Slide 4 Ive added a light drum pad to make it more beaty. Ive also added a cymbal to go well with the light drum beat. To go well with the other drum sounds, I have added a snare drum beat. These 3 drum pad beats makes my music piece less soft than usual. This is the 3 drum beats all together. 2.1 Slide 5 This is all of my ideas I have at the moment put together. This is a synth sample that I liked and seems to fit with my software instruments. I intend to cut this up to make it more rhythmically interesting. I have cut up the synth sample to edit it. I think it sounds much more interesting now. 2.1 Slide 6 This is the software instrument for my pad sound that I think I will use. I have adjusted the filter control as well as the vibrato as I liked how this changed the timbre. Slide 7 This is the software instrument for my bass guitar timbre. I have adjusted the Boost, Tone & Delay controls as I liked the way this changed the sound. It made it sound a bit deeper than the preset. 2.1 Slide 8 2.2 Mixing: I have kept the tempo on 120bpm because I wanted a steady beat through out the piece. Ive adjusted the pan on my tracks and tweaked the volume. Slide 9 Audio editing: with my synth I have cut pieces up and put them together which oddly enough goes well with a cool electro synth board and a classic electric piano. What I have also done is cut up up some of the drum beats and copied and paste them which goes well with the whole piece. 2.2 Slide 10 THIS IS MY ENTIRE PIECE. 2.2 Slide 11 Midi editing: what I done with the bass is copied the audio and changed that chord which was originally a C into a F. After I done that I copied the original audio a few times and put them together and added the lower audio at the end to make it sound more lively. 2.2 Slide 12 Effects processing: ive put some distortion on the drum pad to make the sound dirtier. 2.3 Slide 13 EQ: I've boosted the lower frequency of the bass because I wanted to boost the bottom end and make it more punchy. I have also added a low mid and a high mid to make my beat more punchy and I preferred the beat with the EQ. 2.3 Slide 14 I've added some delay on my classic analog pad because I liked how it echoes with my track. Slide 15 I added something called space designer. It makes a cool echo on my blip slide which sounds spacey. 2.3 Slide 16 2.5 My piece is a dance track because it has four to floor kick which is used a lot in dance tracks. I have also added similar timbres like synths which are commonly used in dance tracks and the way it sounds on my track with all the types of synths for example synth lead, synth rhythm etc.. In some bits of my piece, there are syncopated rhythm parts. This creates an interesting rhythmic pattern which helps move the piece forward. My piece has a steady upbeat tempo which is really important for dance music so that people can actually dance to it.
