Caritas Wu Cheng-chung Secondary School 2020/2021 Scholastic Year Parent Circular No.57 18 th May, 2021 Dear Parents/Guardians, Re: Scholastic Year Final Examination The Scholastic Year Final Examination will be held from 3 rd June, 2021 to 17 th June, 2021. Below are the details about the examination. 1. Enclosed please find a timetable for the examination. Please be reminded of the special arrangements for the examination time. 2. Assessment of Physical Education, Music (Practical) and Oral will be conducted during normal lessons from 25 th May, 2021 to 1 st June, 2021. 3. Examinations will be re-scheduled to later date in case of suspension of class announced by the EDB. When school is resumed, all scheduled examinations will be held as usual. 4. Students should be punctual and attend all the sessions of examinations. If a student can present a proper medical certificate to show that his/her absence was caused by illness or if he/she can present evidence to prove that he/she was physically unable to be present in the examination, a supplementary examination will be arranged. All the supporting documents and/or a parent's letter should be submitted to the school on the day the student is back to school. 5. For those absentees who cannot present any medical certificates or evidence for their absence, '0' mark will be given for that paper/subject. 6. Students' academic performance is very important in the consideration of promotion at the end of the school year. The minimum requirement for promotion is an average of 45 marks in the whole year for S1 to S3. For S4 to S5, the minimum requirement is 40 marks. S4 and S5 students with the average mark of anyone of the elective subjects below 30 are recommended to drop out. 7. Besides academic results, the attendance and conduct of students are included for the consideration of promotion. 8. If any S4 and S5 repeater has failed to fulfill the requirement for promotion, no repeater place will be offered again. 9. Regulations of examination are attached.
