Quality Educaon - Towards Independence TERM2 WEEK 7 2019 Art Workshop Our new art room is now in full swing with weekly art lessons on Tuesdays with Ms Moore and Ms Jones. This week they held a special print making workshop for two groups of students. The students learnt all about using different textures to make art and enjoyed making a number of different pieces including a card and a bag. We are absolutely loving our new space and look forward to the addition of a sink and window being completed during the holidays. Well done to our amazing art teachers! PBL Movies Over the last term, classes have been working on making a movie to show our PBL expectations. On Tuesday our special judges Will Tatnell and Mitchell Allan helped some of the SRC students make the very difficult decision to choose a winner. There were some outstanding entries and it really was a hard decision so we had to choose two in the senior school! Congratulations to Class R & D whose movies were highly commended, however it was Class M and Class Moss that really blew us away and were crowned the winners of the 2019 Senior PBL Movie Competition. In the Junior school, Class C’s movie showing us how to be good listeners was highly commended while Class S took out the main prize with a wonderful movie on following instructions! Well done to all the classes for your enthusiasm and expert movie making! Learning with Lego We were recently invited to attend a coding skills workshop at Orange PS where students used Lego to build a vehicle that moved but without wheels! Well done to those students that attended and showed respect and courtesy and were fabulous ambassadors for Carenne. Have a great week Jane We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the tradional custodians of our lands, Australia. We acknowledge the Wiradjuri naon as the tradional custodians of these lands we now call Bathurst, and we pay our respects to their Elders both past and present. FUN FACTS The Aboriginal Flag was designed in the 1970’s and its colours represent different aspects of Aboriginal life. The black symbolised the Aboriginal people, the yellow represents the sun and the red represents the earth and the relationship between people and the land.
