Phone Line Volunteers after they have received 60 plus hours of intensive training which includes a full

Volunteers who work with them side by side. They are also supervised by staff.
We provide a confidential, anonymous and immediate response, at no cost, to Thurston and Mason County
residents. Over 50 Volunteers operate the phone lines. Trained and willing listeners help sort out concerns and
feelings, identify problems, assist callers to develop the ability to help themselves, make decisions, realize their
strengths and make use of their personal and community resources. Over 9,000 calls are received annually.
