Grammar

• 1. Infinitives

• 2. The special usages of infinitives

Page 24: Career Woman Unit 6 Guide lines 1. Speaking (lead-in & discussion) 2. Reading A 1).global reading 2). intensive reading 3). grammar 3. Listening 4. Self-reading.

e.g.: To scold her would not be just. We are planning to build a library here . One of our main tasks now is to learn English. Do you have anything to declare? To do a good job, we must have the right tools.

Page 25: Career Woman Unit 6 Guide lines 1. Speaking (lead-in & discussion) 2. Reading A 1).global reading 2). intensive reading 3). grammar 3. Listening 4. Self-reading.

e.g.: To complete that building in ten months was a great thing. It was a great thing to complete that building in ten months.

Page 26: Career Woman Unit 6 Guide lines 1. Speaking (lead-in & discussion) 2. Reading A 1).global reading 2). intensive reading 3). grammar 3. Listening 4. Self-reading.

e.g. It was great for architect to complete that building in ten months. It was kind of you to think so much of us.

It is +adj. for someone to do… It is +adj. of someone to do…

Page 27: Career Woman Unit 6 Guide lines 1. Speaking (lead-in & discussion) 2. Reading A 1).global reading 2). intensive reading 3). grammar 3. Listening 4. Self-reading.

For one to borrow books, it is imperative to have a library card.

e.g.:I am sorry to have kept you waiting so long.

4. There be 句型的不定式是: there to be… 复合式 为: for there to be e.g.: I don’t want there to be any disagreement between us.
