The numbers more then speak for themselves. Beginning with an overtime victory over Wayne State on Jan. 13, 2006 and ending over a year later, the Winona State men’s basketball team did not lose a game. After that victory over Wayne State, the Warriors rolled to 21 more wins in a row to close the 2005-06 season, culminatingintheschool’sfirstNationalChampionship.Thewinningcontinuedduringthenext season, with Winona State claiming a 35-0 record entering their second consecutive title matchup. While the Warriors would fall that day to Barton, NC, the list of accomplishments they left in their wake are staggering. Winona State can claim a national title during The Streak. They also earned two North-ern Sun Intercollegiate Conference regular season championships, as well as a pair of NSIC Tournament Championships. The 35 wins the 2006-07 team earned are the most in a single season in any level of college basketball.
