SEEK EMPLOYMENT: Set up search agents based on career interests, participate in on-campus recruitment events and apply for jobs through your BusinessLink profile and interview.
ATTEND CAREER FAIRS: Research business industries and network with recruiters at Accounting Night and Meet The Firms Night events to secure internships and employment opportunities.
APPLY FOR GRADUATE SCHOOL: Attend information sessions, take graduate exam (GRE or GMAT), and complete graduate program applications to pursue your graduate education.
CONTINUE CAREER PLAN: Continue developing your skills and gaining work experience. Maintain your resume, keep track of where you have applied, continue networking and building your professional identity.
THIRD YEAR
BUILD CAREER SKILLS: Have your resume critiqued, practice interviewing and watch CareerSpots videos to get prepared to enter the work force. Utilize other resources and workshops on your BusinessLink profile
NETWORK & SEEK CAREER ADVICE: Meet with Faculty Advisors to gain insight into the career field. Connect with employers at career events to learn about career opportunities and build relationships.
APPLY FOR JOBS & INTERNSHIPS: Further grow your skills and experience by obtaining employment. Attend Accounting Night & Meet the Firms Night Fairs and apply for opportunities on your BusinessLink profile .
RESEARCH GRADUATE SCHOOL: Attend information sessions and complete research on graduate programs, like a Masters in Business Administration (MBA), to learn about curriculum, requirements and deadlines.
SECOND YEAR
EXPLORE CAREERS: Identify and explore occupations of interest by reviewing career opportunities on the BusinessLink site and speaking further with faculty advisors on concentrations of interests.
GAIN EXPERIENCE: Build skills and test out careers by obtaining an entry-level job or summer internship providing life experience outside of the classroom you can add to your resume.
ATTEND CAREER WORKSHOPS: Career workshops such as Resume Critiques, Interviewing, Mentorship Panel, How To Prepare For A Career Fair can provide you with career advice and help you build your professional image.
DECLARE CONCENTRATION: By the end of your 2nd year you must declare your Business Administration Concentrations by completing a “Declaration or Change of Degree Objective” form.
FIRST YEAR
CREATE RESUME: Advertise who you are by summarizing your skills, abilities and accomplishments. This will allow you to apply for volunteer experiences, jobs and internships when they become available.
GET INVOLVED: Join student clubs and organizations or volunteer for a cause of interest. This allows you to meet new people with common interests, while gaining leadership skills and experience.
EXPLORE CONCENTRATIONS: Review the “Concentration Highlights” handout and speak with a Business Advisor to learn more about the different areas of business.
CREATE BUSINESS LINK PROFILE: Create a professional image, add your resume and explore the many resources, workshops, companies and career opportunities available to business students.
