A composite score is calculated from JEE-Main performance and your class XII (or equivalent exam) marks This score is considered for initial screening.

• Weightage to Class XII Board Marks

• Now, weightage is also given for the XII board or equivalent marks, though the percentage of weightage varies with the types of Institutes. The board marks are normalized on percentile basis through an appropriate formula.

JEE EXAM AND ADMISSION PROCESS


ADMISSION PROCESS FOR IITSFor initial screening, a composite score is calculated with 40% weightage to class XII Board or equivalent marks and the remaining 60% weightage to JEE Main performance. Based on this composite score, a fixed number of candidates (1,50,000 candidates) are considered eligible for admission. These short-listed candidates are then ranked in the order of merit entirely based on their performance in the JEE Advanced examination. It is essential for you to get 75% marks or figure in the top 20 percentile bracket of your respective Class XII Boards, whichever is lower.

ADMISSION PROCESS FOR OTHER INSTITUTESIf you are aspiring to get admission to NITs and other institutes only, then you need to give only JEE Main exam. There is 40% weightage for performance in Class XII Board marks normalized on percentile basis and 60% weightage for performance in JEE Main

JEE TEST PATTERN Both JEE Main and JEE Advance test are multiple-choice objective-type paper. Duration of both the papers is 3 hours (180 minutes).

Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IISAT) Admission Test (ISAT) is a National Level Entrance Examination, as is clear from its name. This examination is for admission into B.Tech. based on the applicants’ JEE (Main) scores. The All India Rank received by them will be one of the major determining factors for admission into ISAT. It has 3 major B.Tech. courses – Bachelors of Technology in Aerospace Engineering, Avionics, Physical Sciences. Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test popularly known as BITSAT 2016 is a University level entrance exam. This exam is to offer admission in diverse Engineering courses like Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics, Civil, Chemical, Instrumentation, Electronics and Communication, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering and Biotechnology. • TNEA 2016 is a State Engineering Entrance Examination, which is conducted by Anna University. It is the University that releases the TNEA notifications. TNEA is the key through which more than 1.5 lakh Engineering students get enrolled into the engineering colleges of Tamil Nadu. Their admission happens through a single window counselling. The courses offered through TNEA are B.Tech and B.E. These courses occur for 4 academic years, which constitutes of 8 semesters. • Civil Law that deals with concerns of private rights of individuals, handling damage suits, breach of contract suits, drawing deeds, wills, mortgages, acting as trustee or guardian, etc.

• Tax Law has a tuned in focus on income tax, estate tax, real tax, franchises, problems of inheritance, etc.

• Criminal Law where one deals with offences against society or state. This is probably the most exciting branch of law. Here the job involves interviewing clients and interrogating witnesses, correlating findings, conducting trials, preparing a case for defence, examining, cross examining in court and so on.

• Corporation Law deals with advising corporations on their legal rights, obligations, privileges; studying statutes, constitutions and ordinances; and, helping the corporations to make the all-important decision of whether to go in for a suit at all.

• International Law specialises on treaties, customs and traditions observed by nations in their relations with one another.

• Labour Law deals with workers, their associations, working conditions, workers’ rights and duties, etc. Frequently, a lawyer specialising in labour law is called upon to sort out issues between management and employees in firms.

• Real Estate Law covers conveyance of property, search records and deeds to establish titles of property; acting as trustee for property; and, drawing up legal documents for deeds and mortgages.

• Patent Law focuses on securing patents for inventors from the patent’s office. Here the lawyer specialises in prosecuting or defending patent infringement and preparing detailed specifications of the patent and so on.
