• Internship or shadowing day (e.g. bring your kind to work day)- see how people in urban planning deal with different needs, create ideas, presentations, reports and meeting deadlines.

• Tours- to tour different cultural history museums (e.g. the ROM)

• Urban planners work for the government or for consulting companies.

• Most of their work is done in an office environment using computers, phones, and possibly sketching materials.

• Visit and examine the areas of land and neighbourhoods they are working with, travelling on site.

• A planner's work is often done in cooperation with a team of other community experts and officials.

• Hours are full time during the week,

• Meetings and extra work are sometimes done on evenings and weekends.

• Now in 2015 there are about 129, 913 job opportunities and by 2020 there will be 7,011 more job opportunities in Urban Planning

Conclusion

• What I learned is that being an Urban planner is a broad title, there are many areas to specialize in. So far the one I am interested in being is an Urban and Regional Planner.
