1. SPACIOUS, LUXURIOUS AND COMFORTABLE CABIN. The Captiva’s spacious 7-seat cabin can

be quickly modified to create huge amounts of

cargo space, simply by folding away the two

back seats. From its 8-way electronically

adjustable driver’s seat to the innovative 5+2

seating arrangement, the Captiva is truly versatile.2. CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM WITH IONIZER

Surround yourself with fresh air, cooled or

heated to individually controllable temperatures

on the right and left sides of the cabin. Operated

from either the center console or steering wheel

mounted controls, the smart climate control

system strips away smoke and pollutants

using positively and negatively charged ions.

3. PASSIVE ENTRY, PASSIVE START (PEPS) Seamlessly enter your Captiva and start it up

without taking the key from your pocket. The

PEPS system will sense that the key is in close

proximity and automatically unlock the door and,

when the keyless start fob is turned, the ignition is

engaged. While PEPS makes starting up Captiva

easier for you, the immobilizer system ensures

that nobody else is afforded the same luxury.

4. AUTOMATIC WINDSCREEN WIPERS WITH RAIN SENSOR You’ll find intuitive safety features

through Captiva, including the front and rear

windscreen wipers that automatically start

when they sense rain, adjusting their speed in

accordance with the intensity of the rain.

5. HANDBRAKE CONTROL BUTTON

The handbrake can be engaged or disengaged

quickly and comfortably with this handy,

space-saving button.

2.0 LITER DIESEL ENGINE 4 CYLINDERS, 16 VALVES, DOHC Delivers 163 horsepower

(120 kW@3,800 rpm) and 400 Nm@2,000 rpm

of torque. The engine is quiet and provides

excellent fuel efficiency.

2.4 LITER BENZENE ENGINE DOUBLE CVC 4-CYLINDER, 16-VALVE, FLEX FUEL This

pioneering engine supports alternative fuels

such as E20 and E85. While reducing

emissions, it still puts out an impressive 167

horsepower (123 kW@5,600 rpm) and 230

Nm@4600 rpm.

6-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION (DRIVER SHIFT CONTROL) Take shifting gears into your

own hands with the Driver Shift Control or

simply cruise along in automatic. When Automatic

Transmission is selected, the Transaxle Control

Module works with the Engine Control Module

to calculate the precise moment at which to

shift gears to optimize performance. Whichever

transmission mode is selected, however,

4-wheel drive and Electronic Stability Control

are constantly at work to ensure that the

Captiva always remains under control.

1. STAY CONFIDENTLY IN CONTROL OF THE ROAD WITH 8 INTERLINKING SYSTEMS DESIGNED TO OPTIMIZE STABILITY, EFFICIEN-CY AND CONTROL. 1.1 ABS (ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM) the

ABS system prevents wheels from locking

during sudden or forceful braking, allowing the

driver to keep better control while performing

emergency stops and when taking tight

corners.

1.2 EBD (ELECTRONIC BRAKE-FORCE DISTRIBUTION) EBD automatically calculates

and applies the correct amount of braking

pressure to each wheel to maximize stopping

power and maintain control when braking.

1.3 TCS (TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM) when traction on the road surface is lost, TCS

acts to regain control.

1.4 ESC (ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL) ESC prevents your Chevrolet from skidding out

of control by applying brake pressure to the

wheels that need it and by limiting engine

power, when necessary.

1.5 ARP (ACTIVE ROLLOVER PROTECTION) ARP actively calculates and distributes equal

braking force to all 4 wheels, preventing the

car from rolling over in forceful braking

situations.

1.6 HBA (HYDRAULIC BRAKE ASSIST) Hydraulic braking provides a backup of extra

braking force that can be accessed when

necessary.

1.7 HDC (HILL DESCENT CONTROL) Hill

Descent Control makes the engine and brakes

work in harmony when driving down a incline

for a smoother and more controlled descent

1.8 HSA (HILL START ASSIST) The HSA

prevents the car from rolling in the time

between releasing the brake and applying the

accelerator when accelerating from a

stationary position on a hill.

2. SAFETY Captiva’s intrinsic safety system

stars with it’s high-strength, resilient frame

which features side impact beams to lessen

the effect of a side-on collision; it also extends

to features including two front air bags and

side and curtain airbags which run along both

sides of the cabin.

3. SUSPENSION • The Captiva promises a smooth and

quiet ride thanks to its McPherson Strut

and stabilizer, 4-dimension, Multi-link

suspension system.

• The Captiva’s impressive load bearing

capabilities can be partly attributed to

the self-levelizer system that works to

distribute weight equally around the car,

to accommodate large loads and uneven

passenger distribution.

The adaptable 4-wheel drive system uses

Active Torque on Demand, allowing you to

select either 50:50, 60:40, or 70:30 torque

distribution ratios to suit your terrain, or

22driving style. In normal driving conditions,

such as on a highway, greater fuel efficiency

can be achieved by shifting more torque to the

front wheels, while in rough terrain, traction

can be increased by shifting the torque

distribution back and forth.

When swerving to avoid an obstacle in the road, the Active Rollover Protection (ARP) will distributebrake-force to the appropriate wheels in orderto keep the Captiva stable.

The above illustration demonstrates Captiva’s Electronic Stability Program (ESP)and Traction Control System (TCS) working together to maintain stabilityby regulating oversteer and understeer.

Under sudden or forceful braking, Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBAprovides an additional boost of brake-force before

the Anti-lock Braking System is activated.
