Grayson Sierp(L), Josh Lipper(C), and Carter Yates(R) goof around in Theater I. They had a break to relax. “Us and the reindeer, that’s the ideal family,” said Sierp.

Luiza Cizerza goes over her line in Theater I. The class was rehearsing a class play. Cizerza says, “I love being in theater!”

Maria Houser plays dead in Theater. The class was pulling together the framework for their class play. “ I was on the verge of death!” says Houser.

Joe Hurt and Nathan Zheng wait outside the orchestra hall. They were waiting for their turn for second smelter band auditions. “ I really like the fact that they let you try again in the second half of the year for a better spot.”said Joe.

Rees Newton gets into the part. The theater was practicing for a play to perform for the class. Rees said “ I really got into my character it was so fun!”

Cali Landry thinks hard in Mr. Elms’ tech theater class. The class was preparing for state design competition. “ I was brainstorming for state design,” said Cali, describing her thoughtful expression.

Eric Fanseka goofs off in Mr. Elms’ Tech Theater class. The class was preparing for a design competition. Eric said, “I like to goof off a little (when all my work is finished)!”

Andrew Deegan focuses on the music in Band class. The band was rehearsing for their winter concert. “I like band a lot and I actually play bass and guitar in the jazz band,” said Andrew.

David Ra blasts some fresh tunes in band class. The band was preparing for their Christmas concert. “Band really lets me relax during the school day,” said David.

Niel Bansal warms up in Choir class. It was picture day for the ensemble so they were wearing their concert clothes. “ I felt really good looking. All the girls were staring,” said Bansal.

Kaylie Meeks rehearses in Choir class. They were preparing for their winter choir concert. “ My favorite part of choir is all the relationships,” said Kaylie.

Henry Crosby takes a break in band class. The director rehearses individual sections in class sometimes. “Band gives you time to think about the intricacies of life,” said Henry.

Grant George plays on his phone in Band class. The Band was preparing for their Christmas Holiday concert. “I play on my phone all the time,” Grant said, “Mr. Balettie never knows!”

Mr. Andrew Balettie pauses for a moment to review the score. He was preparing the band for not just this performance but every performance. “Band is not just about getting ready for the next performance, it’s about teaching these kids to live in the real, professional world. Every day is a performance that requires detail,” said Mr. Balettie.

Anna Lily plays some classic holiday tunes in Band class. The band was preparing for their Holiday Concert. “Sleigh Ride is my favorite holiday song because it’s so fun to play!” said Anna.
