CANTAB Mobile is a sensitive touchscreen assessment of episodic memory, mood and functional status, designed to detect amnestic mild cognitive impairment and identify the earliest signs of clinically relevant memory problems associated with Alzheimer’s disease.

Due to its unique sensitivity to amnestic mild cognitive impairment, CANTAB Mobile enables clinicians to perform quick, accurate and easy memory assessments; dierentiate between a memory problem and a mood disorder; and make appropriate referrals to secondary care.

Perform highly sensitive memory assessmentsThe assessment is based on the well-established Paired

test that is acutely sensitive to hippocampal function.

PAL has been validated in over 400 published papers and

supported by 30 years of clinical research.

increased precision, ease of use and sensitivity to amnestic

mild cognitive impairment (MCI).

Save time and reduce workloadsCANTAB Mobile can be administered by nurses and support

sta, freeing up clinician time. Test results are automatically

calculated with an instant report provided at the end,

making the assessment quick, simple and effi cient.

Assess more patients in less time CANTAB Mobile takes less than ten minutes to complete for

most patients and scores are automatically compared to a

large normative database of results for people of a similar

age, gender and background. This allows more assessments

and reduces workload.

Dierentiate symptoms with 98% accuracyDepression and Alzheimer’s disease share many symptoms

making a diagnosis diffi cult. CANTAB Mobile dierentiates

between patients with Alzheimer’s disease, depression and

healthy patients with 98% accuracy1 to ensure patients

receive appropriate treatment and diagnosis.

Take appropriate action fastPractitioners can access the electronic patient results

instantly with reports that clearly display whether to

investigate further, monitor or reassure the patient.

Reassure healthy patients CANTAB Mobile accurately identifi es patients who do not

show any signs of a clinically relevant memory problem,

allowing healthy patients to be reassured early on.

Improve your patients’ quality of lifeFor patients with dementia, their carers and families, the

benefi ts of timely detection, referral and diagnosis are clear.

CANTAB Mobile detects signs of memory impairment

earlier than traditional cognitive assessments allowing

patients to plan their lives better, receive timely treatment

if appropriate, and access support to enhance their

quality of life.

‘It is simply the best tool available.’

Dr Nigel Cowley, GP

The CANTAB Mobile assessment is a sensitive test of

episodic memory. Episodic memory impairments are one

of the earliest signs of amnestic mild cognitive impairment,

Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. CANTAB Mobile

also includes an integrated sensitive depression screen,

making it the most accurate and practical cognitive

impairment assessment tool in primary care.

‘Cantab Mobile helps GPs make more informed referrals for patients with suspected dementia.’

Dr Jill Rasmussen, GP and Clinical Champion of

Dementia at Royal College of General Practitioners

‘We now have a tool that sensitively detects the earliest signs of dementia. This not only frees up capacity in the memory service, but reduces unnecessary stress for patients and their families.’

Gary McFegan, Associate, Kent and Medway Commissioning

Support Unit

Use in the NHS

CANTAB Mobile is currently being used in healthcare practices throughout the NHS, helping to increase the number of completed memory assessments and improve accurate referrals for timely dementia diagnosis.

Over 25,000 CANTAB Mobile memory assessments have been completed.
