S P O T L I G H T O N . . .
U11sWhilst we were able to retain the core of the squad from last year, the U11s started this season with a large number of players who had very little experience or were completely new to the game.
As coaches we are confident that this group of players will continue to improve as
the season progresses and start to regularly challenge some of the more established sides
in the league.
We’ve had mixed results in the league to date, but really illustrated how far
we’ve come as a squad by our recent performances at the Abu Dhabi
tournament, where we were able to field three teams.
The 1st team made it through to the semifinal of the cup
losing in a hard fought match to eventual winners and arch
rivals the Exiles 1st team.
The 2nd team lost in the bowl semifinal and the 3rd team was knocked
out in the quarterfinal of the bowl.
Thank you to our coaches, parents, and managers, for their support and dedication, ensuring that the squad
continues to develop and, most importantly, enjoy their time playing with the Hurricanes.
A word f rom He ad Coach,
Jame s G i lde a
This was reflected in some of the early league results and our slow start to the season. However, the players have been extremely committed in training and continue to show a willingness to learn.
Coupled with our dedicated coaching staff, we have seen a real improvement across both teams and are starting to develop a very competitive squad who are pushing each other for places.
